Thanks! We're about 1/2 way home now. So far, not too bad...the advice on here was gold. Tons of toys to entertain her & the teething foods/puffs have helped a lot. She's only napping in 30 min stretches, so I'm guessing she's not as comfy in the car seat as she used to be...

Lots of Cheerios !!! We've taken LO on about 4 road trips 5 hours each. Doesn't matter when we leave she usually sleeps a lot then wakes up and eats Cheerios/ plays . When she gets really restless we stop and change her let her move around for a bit. Then she goes back in the car seat and back to sleep. She sleeps better on road trips than she does at home. It usually only messes her schedule up for a day or two. Just be flexible and know that you'll get there eventually

I recently took my 2yo and 8mo on what should of been a 4hour trip that turned into a 5 1/2 hr trip wasn't too bad. I took lots of toys for them had music for them & had snacks for when we took a rest stop break. Going I left around their afternoon nap so they slept a good chunk of the way. And coming back home my 2yo was sick so I stopped every 30min so I left early in the morning so the 8mo would sleep most of the way. Just remember to get them out to stretch and play for a bit and you should do fine. I will say that my kids both hate to be in their car seats for anything over 45min but they did fine

We just got back from a 12 hour road trip to Maine. We started driving at 4am. I woke my 9 month old up.....changed her.....and off we went. I usually don't let her watch TV.....but.....I downloaded a few Baby Einstein videos on my iPad....my older daughter and niece were in the back with her so they entertained her while she was awake and she slept A LOT! She normally NEVER sleeps in the car seat. We stopped once for about 30 minutes to let her crawl around. We had tons of toys for her as well.

I live in California and took my daughter on a road trip to Vegas (about 4 hours) when she was 3 months. We left early in the morning to beat traffic. I just made sure she was fed and brought toys and books to keep her occupied. She slept a lot of the way but there was a meltdown on the way home halfway through. Your trip may be longer than expected due to stops for diaper changes and feedings so keep that in mind!
