I'm in deep planning Layla's first birthday bash! I know she won't remember, blah blah blah, but I'm so caught up in Pinterest that I just can't help obsessing!!

I'm planning right now too. Haha, my husband thinks I'm crazy. :) We're doing a Lego theme party. I'm having a Lego cake made that looks like real mega blocks, using Legos as the centerpieces and on the food table, and making a Lego banner. I'm not sure how many kids will be there and thought about making a Lego photo booth. :)
@pastelito - I hear you. That's kind of why I wanted some advice from the experienced mamas. I know it's a lot of work to throw even a small-ish party, so I'm already getting anxious. Any tips are much appreciated!
@sharyllynn, congrats on the upcoming wedding & OMG your candy land theme sounds incredible!! That's going to look amazing- I can't wait to see pics!
And yes, I can't wait to start up the holidays! We started a few traditions with Layla last year: la Salette (a local Christian shrine with Christmas lights all over the property), picking out a tree at a farm, pics with Santa, and on Christmas morning I made Monkey Bread for breakfast (SUPER easy and tasty!) I like the idea of certain dishes that you only eat around the holidays.

That sounds so fun! Lol I wish I could go hahaa! Idk what we will do for Isabelle's bday. It's November 24th so probably just a little family get together. Nothing to crazy. We had a big party for my son for his 2nd bday and I will not have another huge party like that again ? way to much work
Before I talk about birthday planning, I want to get married in the month of October and have a chilli bar at my wedding. Lol.
Hadlees theme for her party is candyland. I originally wanted to do cupcakes but my cousin did that in March for her daughters first birthday. I've been pinning up a storm on decoration I am going to make. We are going to have a candy bar and a hot chocolate river. Also cake and ice cream. I have already discussed with some people who are helping decorate. My friend is colouring the sidewalk to the house like the candy land game board. We will have signs for all the places in candyland. A giant gingerbread man will be at the start of the walk way. Inside the house there will be a pin the cherry on the Sunday. The banister will have streamers and look like candy canes. I'm making large lollipops. And other pieces of candy and hanging them up. I'm also making a banner. There will be pictures laid out in the shape of a 1 all over the house. I'm so excited for her party.
Tara as for costumes, I'm leaning towards a monster, doll, or red riding hood. I'm trying to find the most perfect Christmas morning breakfast and Christmas traditions. One tradition I want to do is a candy can hunt and a like of things to do for 24 days of Christmas. I love the holidays.
Omg Mary I'm loving all your matching headbands. I have to try to do this with Em. It's just so cute. I love Layla's birthday theme! That will be fun and perfect. We're doing Minnie Mouse because Em lights up when she sees Minnie and laughs at her song. We're Disney fans anyways. I'm always on Pinterest looking for ideas and looking around for birthday stuff. Yes, it's an obsession for sure. We deserve to party it's a big day. They may not remember but will love seeing the pics. We're only doing something small but I still want to decorate and get a cute outfit. It will be exciting to see all our babies 1th Birthday pics. Hugs
I'm doing a fall themed party for our daughter too! Her birthday is on Halloween and i really don't want to do a Halloween or costume party but I thought a fall theme was cute :)
