First day with cloth=FAIL
Baby girl is 2 weeks old & weighs under 8 lbs. Tried to use our CDs for the first time today- 2 pockets and 1 prefold/cover. She leaked through all of them (& 2 onesies) & my husband & I finally gave up for the day and put her in a disposable. I think her little legs are still too small bc she's leaning out the sides. Also, in regard to the prefold, the snappie seems too big, even though its size 1. Anyone else have this issue with their newborn? Any advice? TIA!

Try boingos for the prefolds-less bunching and pulling in the crotch area and you can use just one or both

Did you use the correct size for newborn. Most pockets come in a one size fits after 10 lbs up to 35 lbs. And covers come in a multitude of sizes. If you are using a one size make sure to snap the rise as high as you can.

While much more of my stash is OS, everything I used on her today was newborn. Even the pockets. And I did try fastening on the tightest setting, but that didn't seem to make a diff...

I had a preemie and was able to use GMD NB prefolds (jelly rolled and secured with snappy) with Thirsties Duo Wrap size one covers. They were the first thing that fit her around 6lbs... And she was a string bean! Before that I had to use sposies.
What type of fold did you use with the prefold? I don't have any experience with NB AIO, so can't help there! Good luck!

The prefolds are OsoCozy and the covers are Thirsties.
We tried the jelly roll to start...2 Alva newborn AIOs...
and then were about to try a 4th CD using the newspaper fold when my husband realized the snappis stretched too far on her and would go thru the material to her little legs if we stretched it as far as it needed to go (hope that makes sense). We had started the fold in the front.
So I think today we'll fold a tab in the back so that we can stretch the snappi a little farther without risking digging in to our LO's skin.

I gotcha. I know many mamas like osocozy brand, but I turned mine into burp cloths bc they just didn't work as well as GMDs.
Did you prep your stash appropriately first? The more you wash prefolds, the more absorbent they get. I'm sorry I don't have any advice on the AIO, I never used any.

I was just about to mention the proper pre washing as PP mentioned.
Besides that, I've also heard osocozy aren't as absorbent as gmd but I don't have firsthand experience as we're due in 5 weeks :)
