Every night. I swear for the past 4 nights around 730-8 I will have contractions super close together that hurt and then when I get ready for bed they just stop. Pretty infrequent contractions throughout the day but nothing significant. I'm 38w tomorrow and 3cm dilated. I don't know what the deal is.

Yes I've been getting them the last few weeks, midwife said its due to baby getting his head down, seems to be every night it's slightly driving me mad.

Thanks for commenting, girls! Glad I'm not the only one! My apt next week isn't til next Thurs but my mom thinks they're just practice contractions & I may be dilating. Sounds like she's right!

Stay hydrated! The only time I ever had a false contraction was the middle of the night- I had like 4 and my hubs grabbed me a big

glass of water and I chugged and they completely stopped immediately. Doc said most of the time you're dehydrated. I've been drinking tons of water in the evening which creates other problems, but I would rather get up and pee a few times.

I've been having real, painful contractions for weeks, but they're not dilating me or getting closer together. ? Had to get a shot at 35 weeks to stop then and they've been coming off and on ever since. My doctor says this just happens to some women. I hope yours progresses more quickly than mine has been, if that's what you want to happen!

@lindy- I've read about the staying hydrated thing, but when I had these contractions I had just finished lunch (soup) and a bottle of water. Weird, right?
