Surgery tomorrow?
I'm having my gallbladder took out tomorrow, has anyone had this and can tell me how they felt afterwards? I'm so nervous never had surgery before either! So anxious I can't begin to explain??
I was given codeine so couldn't feed her for 24 hours and she had to have formula I had a big red sticker on my notes informing doctors not to give me codeine and they did, I was on oramorph aswell which I know is safe to take I had to express and throw the milk away I was gutted xx
It's scary how uneducated many people in the medical field is about breastfeeding :( I was breastfeeding when I had my gallbladder removed too :(
There's a Facebook page called The Breastfeeding Network Drugs in Breastmilk Information Service. You can private message them them and ask about the painkillers you've been given, how much you can take, anything else you can take, etc. They are really good and respond quickly!
Thanks girls the surgery went well only just come home not had the best few days but I've had it done and that's the main thing in a lot of pain but nothing I can't handle, on minimal pain relief as breastfeeding and none of the doctors seemed to have a clue what was safe or not?
Thanks girls! Xxxx
I had my gallbladder out when my eldest was 16 weeks old, got gallstones when I was pregnant with him then had a really bad flare up and went yellow so had to have it removed. I felt so much better for it and moved house the next day lol! Just take it easy, avoid fatty food as it'll more than likely give you diarrhoea or make you sick. Hope all went well xx
Good luck!
I've had it done and I'm so happy I did it - life changing after a year of horrible gallbladder pain :)
It's not too bad, I had pains in my right shoulder for two days after - keep taking the painkillers. But I also had an inflamed gallbladder, so I don't know if that made it worse. After those two days, I felt lots better and a week later I was pretty much back to normal. Never had any issues since x
Okay that's made me feel abit better I suppose any short term pain is better than the pain I'm in 24/7! And Chelsea yeah I've been given a long list of dos and don't regarding food looks like I'm eating like a rabbit for the next few weeks anyway plus side I might lose abit of weight??xx
I've had mine out, was totally fine! Childbirth is much worse imho, you're generally awake for all of that haha For the surgery, I was wheeled into theatre and a lovely anaesthetist gave me a marvellous injection of something very strong in the back of my hand. That was the last I knew about it until I woke up in recovery. As long as you take it easy for a bit and keep on top of the painkillers you'll be grand. Much better than the pain of gallstones ? good luck tomorrow xx
Yeah my surgeon said that I might have abit of trouble with trapped wind so my oh is gonna get some on the way up to the hospital tomorrow! Xx
Yeah that's what I keep telling myself! I can't wait to be pain free!! Took long enough so I suppose I'll have to suck it up?xx
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Short Luteal Phase?
I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.

Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
None of them knew anything about breastfeeding and pain relief we had to ring a midwife to come over luckily my nana used to work on maternity so she rang her friend who came over the same day xx
