It's so stressful isn't it ! Wouldn't be able to cope with them being so close , I think what started it he wasn't taking his milk so they gave him like a milk that's similar to breast milk that comes ready made , so I never had to make it up until he was ok with taking it so him not taking it well at first and not having to make it up has made me sorry so much

Aghhhh don't say that Sophie I use powder at home and ready made (both apatamil number 1 milk) when out which I thought was fine well my midwife knew I was doing that actually advised that ? I couldn't even go home unless popping out for an hour I've currently got a 3 week old taking 4-5oz every 2-3 hours and sometimes she'll have another after an hour!!!

Its confusing because theres so much advise out now that you never know which one to go with! When my daughter was a baby she was on nutriprem so it was ready made but she also was on gaviscon so it didny make her constipated like it does with my son so annoyng!!!!! X

I'm so glad you ladies are the same ! Up until coming to Blackpool I've rushed back to the house to feed him cause the preparing bottles or how to do them out the house literally worries me !! Luckily my mom really wanted us to come and brought ready made so back to squire one of not knowing what to do when home !

I think I'm stressing myself out too much and wasting so much milk, this post has just made re-read the booklet I got on bottle feeding it says can make up a bottle and needs to be used within 2 hours so if nipping down to parents I'll be doing that now rather than using pre-made and if out for day will take pre-made cos realistically carrying a huge flask of boiling water separate bottles and milk then being somewhere that has cold water to cool it sounds a faff! But then 4 years ago I took cooled water and powder and it never hurt him and he never got poorly

So I'm confused with my first 4 years ago I used to put the boiled water in the bottles and then take milk in little tub and add the powder milk when he wanted one and bottle would of used cooled enough. Now it's changed and been told you have to add the milk to boiling water then cool it so it kills bacteria in powdered milk. So you'd think make the bottles up to take with you but then it says on milk powder tub throw away any unused milk after an hour of being made up and then in a bottle feeding leaflet I got from HV it says throw away and unused after 2 hours. So I've been buying premade milk cartons and adding to sterile bottles when out but they aren't really ideal as they cost more than powder. Which is the right way? (Sorry to jump on your post)

I've got a little round tub with three separate compartments for milk I take evvvverywhere with me.. So I fill the bottles up with boiling water, put the powder in the tub and when Finn is ready for a bottle I just put the powder in the bottle, shake it up and we're ready to go.. I'm sure I got mine in Asda? definitely worth a look if you don't have one I couldn't live without mine! Xx

12 hours in the fridge not 12 hours made up and left at room temp...

We tend not to go longer than 4-5 hours when made fresh out the kettle x

I got told it can only be made up for 4 hours? Don't know how true that is though. We've just been away and was out all day Everyday, I put the milk powder in little tubs, put boiled water in the bottle then took a flask to heat the water up then put the milk in when water was right temperature. Xx
