We already had our marriage license and we were just kinda waiting for a day my husband was out early enough we could go down and actually marry. We were starting to think he may have to take off. Well one day he didn't work long and I was still asleep when he came back home. He said lets go get married! I threw on a dress and did my makeup and hair then we went and got married. ? and then we got home, packed, and also took a last minute trip to El Paso for our little "honeymoon".

Thinking about doing something similar now. I live in a beautiful, small mountain town of about 200 people and the rental market here is awful. My lease is up in December and chances of me finding something else is close to zero.

I love hunting, fishing, close communities, no stop lights, etc. If I can't find something I'm packing what I can in my van, selling/donating what I can't then taking myself and children on the farry to Alaska.

I've never been, nor do I know anyone. Not to mention December in Alaska... Might be an adventure for sure!!

We lived in Colorado dh got an interview for a job in texas making quadruple what he was making (plus he was ets from the army) so he went. We drove Wed night he went to the interview Thursday morning. He got the job so we drove back to Colorado Thursday night rented a uhaul and packed Friday and Saturday then drove to Texas Sunday, found a house put the deposit on it got the keys and moved in Sunday and he had to report to work Monday morning!

Completely uprooted our family and moved in 4 days. 2 kids under 3 a dog and I was pregnant. It turned out fantastic though!

I got my dad to watch my kids, took a Friday off work, and filed for divorce. I was wrestling with the decision for months. Actually saying, "I want to file for divorce" was SO FREEING. I set all the dates, filed all the documents, and my parents served ex. Best decision I ever made.

Great stories ladies!!

@Colts.. Thank you for your service ?

Sometimes being spontaneous can be a good thing ? I know for me personally, I am hesitant to change, but for me, being spontaneous about my move was so awesome and truthfully liberating. I was so depressed and tired of being sad. The kicker is, when my son and I moved here I had absolutely no intentions of finding a partner. I just wanted to be out of PA and somewhere with no snow..lol. We had come the day before Easter and while at my best friends house, she had invited one of her husbands friends over (a single guy whom my friend had never even mentioned..lol). We hit it off and now 3.5 years later we are happily engaged and have a beautiful daughter.

Funny how life turns out sometimes ❤️

Went to NYC with my family on a charter bus we arrived at noon and were told to meet back up at 4pm to head back home. Long story short, SO and I stayed in NYC to party and caught a megabus back home.

I had been talking to my DF for a good year and a half. One day he said, "I bought a plane ticket for you to come to NY to meet in person." 4 days later I was on an airplane.

I got off work one Friday and called my husband and asked if he wanted to go camping that weekend. We bought all of the gear at once (tents, cooler, chairs, fire pit, sleeping bags, etc.) And I spent my entire paycheck that day. We called friends on Saturday morning and asked if they wanted to come with. We had no worries or other responsibilities, It was a wonderful spontaneous weekend, and I found out I was pregnant that Monday lol the friend we went with found out she was pregnant one or two weeks later.

I joined the Navy! I had nothing going for me back in small town Indiana so I made a decision to enlist. So many people said I couldn't do it and that I'd never get through bootcamp. I proved them all wrong and served in the worlds greatest Navy for 5 years!!

I up and decided I was moving from Florida to South Carolina with no job and no place to live in 2012! Everything fell into place right before I got there, and it was one of the best things I could have ever done for myself.

I was in a really terrible relationship where I was actually *unknowingly* the other woman. Bought a plane ticket from New York to Texas with the last couple hundred dollars I had saved to escape the depression and never looked back.

I'm really happy now

Op, you made me smile :)

The most spontaneous thing I did was move 2 hours away from my hometown where my close family was. My now DH lives here(where I moved to). He used to live in my hometown, but his family moved here. We were living together then split and he moved here, then we got back together. My family didn't know I'd come visit him (I was over 18) and one day they found out, and totally agreed with me moving. My toxic father lives in my hometown and I didn't want to run in to him, as well as my sons biological father and I couldn't chance him seeing my son.

It sucks being so far from my family, but I seen them often. Not so much now with everything going on with my sons bio father, but I used to go down once or twice every month or two. I had to do what was best for my son and myself, and that was getting away from there.

I met a man in vegas one night, about 3 months later he flew out to LA and I went down there and spent a whole week with him. He wanted me to move to Canada with him but he was such a free spirit I couldn't take that away from him. Some people are just meant to be free. ❤ I still think about him often he was an amazing person.
