9 days postpartum!
I'm 9 days postpartum and I am still in alot of pain !! How long did it take you guys to heal ? I had a 1st degree tear and my vag burns and is so sore :( with a newborn and hubby at work during the day, of course you guys know it's impossible to stay off your feet like the doctors suggest. I worry I'm doing too much since I feel like my pain is not improving. My pelvic area hurts when transitioning from standing to sitting and vise versa.. also when I'm sitting on the toilet. I can't sit directly on my butt period because my vagina is just so freaking sore. My bleeding has slowed and is really just brownish / sometimes bright red I've noticed if I'm moving around alot. I also looked in the mirror and noticed my vag looks off , I feel like it may have not been stitched correctly ?? Or maybe it just hasn't healed properly yet?? Idk, ima FTM!! Lol I also have witch hazel pads, I'm wondering if I should use them down there ??.. Any tips ? Suggestions ??

For sure use witch hazel pads and change often. Use spray bottle to get clean.. pat dry with toilet paper..spray that lidocaine spray and use witch hazel pads. Sorry. It's takes a bit for it to heal but you should be able to tolerate it at this point.

will the witch hazel pads burn ? I guess I'm kind of worried about It causing more pain than actually helping. I use the bottle when in the shower, it's very soothing. Patting dry tends to hurt though :/

The witch hazel pads shouldn't sting. Also, I'd use the bottle of water while you're peeing. The hospital told me to soak my lady parts in warm water as often as possible. It promotes healing. It took me almost 3 weeks to heal but I had an episiotomy. Gl mama! It gets better, I promise.

I didn't have any tears and I still hurt for a while! I walked hunched over for like 3 weeks lol it takes time to recover from giving birth. It's a pretty traumatic experience if you ask me! For me, my lady parts got worse before they got better. I was fine in the hospital then came home and rather have my ass kicked than pee lol it stung so bad! I've heard witch hazel works for healing. I just took ibuprofen and gave it time!

PrettyCityy, I am 9 days postpartum and am having the exact symptoms you had at the time! Sore and so much pressure feels like my vagina is going to fallout!! Do you feel better now?

6 days PP. same here. Almost feels like my stitches are pulling every time I get up or sit down. I'm afraid to even cough or laugh or even sneeze Bc it feels like it's all gonna bust open. I cry everynight in frustration

When I gave birth, the hospital I was at gave me this medicated spray to spray on my lady parts lol. It was called dermoplast, they have different kinds, but I think the one I had was for pain relief. It was in a blue can. I'm not sure how common that it, but let me tell you I looked forward to peeing just so I could use that spray lol it smells gross but helped so much! Just make sure you change pads often, and I agree with pp soak with warm water as often as possible. I had a squirt bottle I'd use.

Look at CVS or walgreens for a sitting tube! My grandmother got one for me. Worked MIRACLES. I brought It everywere even restaurants. It's litterally a small tub u inflate with ur mouth. The hole is were ur vagina sits so u don't have to worry about sitting and putting pressure. I had a 4 degree tear. SUPER SUPER painfull. I use to need help even going to the bathroom cause getting out of bed was so hard. Words couldnt describe the pain. I'm finally heald and my baby girl is going on 3 months. It prbablly took about a month and half to heal. I know it can suck!

Give it about 3 weeks. I had no tears and I was in pain for a good 3 weeks. I'm 2 months postpartum and still not 100%. Give it some time.

I ended up going to emerg to check for leftover fragments of the placenta.. Turns out it was just some liquid inside the uterus preventing it from closing. Course, Murphy's law, as soon as my mind was at ease, I noticed the pain and bleeding subside significantly the next day at 12 days postpartum. Lesson learned: be patient! But if you're concerned about something, don't be afraid to go get it checked. Better safe!

I was having similar problems, and it turns out that my discomfort was caused by my stitches not dissolving. So I had to have them removed, and the next day I felt much better! Maybe that's the issue for you? I would talk to you doc/midwife about it.
