Pregnancy without Prenatals ??.
Are any of you ladies pregnant and not taking prenatals or have had healthy babies without prenatals ? I'm 26wks and do not take my vitamins like I should. I have tried 8 different kinds including the little gummies and they all make me feel bad. Instead I'm trying to get all my nutrients the natural way by eating healthy.. Fresh fruits , veggies and I'm on an ALL water diet except for orang juice occasionally. I'm 26 weeks today and all check ups have been perfect. Down syndrome and other tests for defects came back negative !! He's at a healthy weight so far and is super active at all times! I feel great as well. I guess I'm just worried that he still may have hidden health issues due to me not taking extra vitamins ??. What do you ladies think ?.
Yes it was diagnosed at 19 weeks gestation but no i don't believe it had anything to do with the prenatals, i had an uti for about a month and doctors never told me about it so it was left one month untreated and just imagine how long i had tht for. Cause i only saw the doctor i was like 15 weeks pregnant and then at 19 weeks they said hey u have a uti... My daugther unfortunately did pass away 1 month after her birth, we did get pregnant again and once again another month with a uti and doctors still never told me until my nxt appointment, i personally think it was cause of that. Cause i have never had a uti since then and i had a healthy boy and again another healthy baby.
Many people go on without prenatals, they have healthy babies , its just a matter of how healthy you are and balanced in vitamines
I quit taking vitamins after the first few weeks of pregnancy with my daughter bc they made me so sick I couldn't function. The point of any vitamin is to fill gaps in your diet. If you're getting enough of the vitamins from your foods, they're really not necessary bc your body just gets rid of anything extra. Just make sure that you're taking in foods that provide lots of folic acid (anything "enriched" has folic acid added to it). My daughter is a completely healthy almost 16 month old without me having taken vitamins for the entire pregnancy.
Yeah I'm staying positive !! Thanks for the help ladies (:
I take mine daily but I figure I have a hard time eating most vegetables so they are going to help me and baby with things I might be missing in my diet during pregnancy certain types of food I just can't eat like most veggies and chicken but I think if you have the right diet you should be alright :)
@nikki wow , you had a better pregnancy without the vitamins ?? That's how I feel now. No vitamins I feel great !! When I took them I felt horrible :/ I think I will take some after pregnancy if I'm completely drained from birth
@Melamine I'm so sorry to hear that :( I hope he's fine now ??. I know each pregnancy is different , do you think that had anything to do with you not taking vitamins when you didn't w your last and she was healthy ??, also , was that something the doctors found before birth ?
Prenatal are basically for your health since the baby takes from you. But with my son I took prenatal vitamins and had an awful pregnancy and he ended up being 10 pounds 10 ounces born via c-section the day before his due date. My daughter's pregnancy on the other hand was great. I took no prenatal vitamins. I gained the same amount in both pregnancies but I didn't look it with her and I was much healthier with her. She was born via vaginal 4 days before her due date weighing 7 pounds 14 ounces. Both healthy babys!! So in my experience, I wouldn't do the vitamins.
If your currently 26 weeks and baby looks fine, i would not worry up to this point,
The most important time for vitamines is the first 12 weeks of developing, that's when every inch of your baby forms, the bigest defect for a baby is nural tube defect,
With my first pregnancy i took them on and off, i have a hard time taking any pills without feeling nauseous my baby was born with hypoplastic left heart.
My son i took folic acid till 3-4 months and he was healthy,
This baby girl here i could not take anything as anything that entered my mouth came straight out and baby is healthy.
OK so you ladies have really eased nerves. I have been reading so much on Google pretty much stating prenatals are an absolute must or you WILL have complications lol. But I know everything is going good do far . just have to monitor my diet closer (:
I stopped taking them around 26 weeks to be honest. Only because i got busy and i just kept forgetting. Ill take it here or there when i remember but i dont do it daily and my doctor tells me baby is healthy and growing perfectly fine. Remember before there were prenatal pills there were still pregnant women lol. If youre eating right then i wouldnt worry.
I stopped at around 16 weeks! I think I will be fine !!. And congrats i can't wait until my lo comes (:
I'm 39 weeks tomorrow and I was good about taking them in the beginning then I started to forget them and would only take them when I remembered then I ran out and can't find the ones I was taking before that agreed with me so I haven't taken them for about a month but so far everything has been just fine all check ups have been perfect she is due next week in the 21 ?
Is there anyone here who doesnt take prenatals? I feel like I'm the only one. I dont take it because I end up throwing it up. And it doesnt make me feel good at all. I stopped taking them around week 7 week 8 and now that I'm almost 15 weeks, I'm feeling way better. I would have morning sickness everyday... now its hardly. I feel like a bad mom already but I'm eating healthy well plenty and drinking lots of water. Can someone ease me? I've heard of moms not taking them and having a perfectly hea...
It Won't Hurt Me If I Take Two Prenatal Vitamins Will It Ladies
What happens if you don't take your prenatal vitamins? Any mommies have experience this ? (I take mine but a friend of mine is so worried)
I feel like my lil nursery is gonna be nothing compared to all other ladies I've seen 😩.. I'm trying to do minnie mouse on one side of my room for her but I feel it won't look cute because we don't have money 💵 to do the fancy kind 😖.. Smh... #whyme
When do I need to start taking prenatal vitamins? #firsttimemom
Ker7, if you are getting all the nutrients you need from your food (which is why we eat), you're not depriving your baby of anything. But you are depriving your baby when you puke everytime you take those vitamins. I literally threw up constantly while taking my vitamins. Sometimes I threw up the vitamins themselves. So in some cases, like my first pregnancy, the vitamins are not a good option. Eating healthy is.
