I spent 100$ an found out at 15 weeks. Totally worth it. Got pictures, a video of the hole thing. I didn't buy anything until it was confirmed at the next ultrasound though.

My partner & I were away for the night to stay at a spa resort the evening after our hospital appointment. My partners mum had printed out two sheets of paper one said "it's a girl" & was decorated all cute & pink, & the same was done with the other only it obviously said "it's a boy", decorated all blue & cute. These were both put in an envelope & after the ultrasound the midwife asked us to leave the room & she left in the envelope which ever one is was. Later that day when we arrived at the spa resort we went for a wee swim etc & then over dinner (which had an amazing view over the sea) we opened the envelope together to find out we are having a baby boy. I'm actually tearing up thinking about it... Haven't regretted it for a second!! I say do it & make it all cute & romantic. ? xxx

I would say spend the money it's worth it but if it's your first you should want to find out together either way it's a great gift to give him after all!

Wow thats pricey. Most places that ive looked into or heard about do it for $50. The place I went was $50 as well. But I would wait a little while anyhow.. I was 17wks 4days. My anatomy scan wasnt till 23 weeks so I felt like it was necessary. Lol

We went for an 3D at 16 week n we saw the gender of the baby (girl)... u should definitely surprise him... omg I'm so excited for you.. congrats!!

No he is definitely not one to get upset about not being there! He doesn't even go to all our appointments.

I am going to get it done, but like one of the girls said, wait to open the envelope with the pics and gender, together.

No take him with you. It's a special thing to experience it together! He may feel some type of way if you go Alone.

Ask the tech to write down the gender in an envelope and put the pictures in there. That way you and hubby can open it and find out together :)

I say wait !!!! when it was time to find out the gender my mom , SO mom and SO was present and it was a huge bonding experience seeing our little peanut on the monitor. right before the tech was going to go show us what we were having we all took one last guess and cheered when we found out the gender. It was more really to my SO seeing the baby on the monitor and getting to be there with me when we both found out.

I think that will be a great surprise, however the feeling of seeing the baby for the first time together was something I'll never forget!!! But either way the surprise sounds sweet on your end too!

Spend that 99 dollars girl! And think of some cute ways to surprise him. That's one thing I regret (not making it a surprise) I handed my hubby the pee stick and cried (happy tears) and now when I watch all the cute videos I get mad at myself! Oh and he was with me when we found out the gender! Can't wait to hear your story!
