pizza craving

Has anybody had a decent tasting alternative for pizza? I love pizza and it sucks to watch my family eat delicious hot take out pizza and not be able to have some, but I know I can't have it. Shot my numbers up last time, and I'm really trying to do better than last pregnancy. Instead tonight I'm making zucchini boat pizzas, but what are some other alternatives you have found to be tasty?

You can also look for bariatric recipes which tend to be alternatives that are much healthier than traditional options. I had weight loss surgery and the bariatric recipes tend to be low carb/sugar.

Many people make the crust from cauliflower to avoid the carbs from bread, and according to many they say it's really good. I've also seen recipes using chicken for the crust which is a great source of protein.

I asked this same question when i was pregnant 2 years ago. ? I was very strict with my diet but when i really craved something i limited it, drank a lot of water, and took a walk right after to lower my levels. If you really crave a regular pizza go for it just not too much. ☺

I use low-carb tortilla shells which has 4 net carbs. Then add your sauce and toppings and bake for about 5-10 mins on 300. Delicious!! Averages up to 10 carbs depending on your sauces and toppings!

I can do 1 slice of pizza with salad with chicken without my numbers going crazy

What about a pizza on a tortilla,pita, or an English muffin?I also load mine with lots of veggies and cheese.

I would say find what works for your body. Because everyone is different. Thin crust is always better and I found that If I eat a salad or even load my pizza topping with veggies it doesn't sky rocket my numbers. The meal has to be balanced, don't just stuff yourself with only pizza.

I was the same, now ive had my baby i haveny evem touched pizza yet lol but i used to make a portobello mushroom instead of pizza. Get a mushroom, wash it etc, get tomato paste/puree about 2 tbsp per mushroom and mix it with oregano and some crushed garlic, pour on to mushroom and add mozarella cheese and a slice of tomato then grill in the oven for about 8-10mins, u dont want the water to start releasing, just the cheese to brown and ta da. I ate this with about 100g of chicken pasta

I don't have an alternative but i have a pizza plan that works for me. Drink an atkins shake before i eat, drink plenty of water with dinner, and take a walk after dinner. I can have 3 slices without the back crust part. Also i order it with a light amount of sauce and extra cheese. Papa John's seems to work best for me.

I've only heard of making the crust from zucchini or (I think) cauliflower. How did yours turn out?!
