meter reliability

So I just used my back up meter, which I've been using for days since the VA hasn't sent the strips for my other meter yet, and it was 128. I had 2 strips left for my other meter so I checked again minutes later, and it was 112. I know this is still high for fasting, but doesn't 16 points off seem like a lot? I did it again with both meters using the same finger and there was a 14 point difference, so it wasn't a fluke. I'm going to call today and ask which meter is more reliable, but that's kind of annoying to see such a big difference. Now I'm questioning a lot of those borderline readings that I had using the back up meter.

Some meters are more reliable than others, especially when you're above 100. And no meters are perfect - it wouldn't be abnormal for you to get a different reading like that on the same meter. :-( Really frustrating! The difference could also be to a spot of sugar on your fingers.
