Thanks so much for your input ladies. I have not had any side effects from the shots & this has been the best pregnancy so far but I have been contracting heavily for 3 weeks & I'm only 31 weeks. I'm pretty sure I'm going to go into full ptl at this point bc my cervix has fully dropped, turned & softened as of last week & contractions have been seriously ridiculous for me to be 31 weeks. They will stay regular for a while & then taper off so I'm just to that completely frustrated & don't know what to expect point.

I started them at 16 weeks, 32 tomorrow and have been in the hospital 3 times with contractions. Twice with BH and this last time I started dilating. I get annoyed when they tell me, you may just be one of those that contract alot. My first son was born at 35 weeks, after having labor stopped at 34 weeks so I was hoping to at least make it to 35 weeks on these injections but my body has a different plan I guess.

Also had what i thought was real contractions and back labor this morning for roughly 45 mins, and woke up previously this morning with it but didnt look at the time. I went and peed and wiped a small amount of bright red blood but went to re wipe and couldnt tell where it was coming from, vaginal or hemorrhoids.

I have the Makena shots. 2 left. Truthfully I'm not happy at all with it...I didn't want to take the shots in the first place but my dr insisted. I had my last son at 35.5wks with respiratory issues and that why. But I know why I went into preterm labor bc I had a very very very stressful pregancy and my obgyn was aware. I have a new dr now. Anywho he never told me there were any side effects to the shot, just that you're getting more of what your body already makes. Im 34 wks and this is the WORSE pregnancy Ive ever had. I started with BH very early...never had contractions with my other 2 babies. And as time has gone one Ive researched and I have EVERY side effect of these damn shots. I also read that it was mainly taken by women who had preterm labor/births at 28-32 wks. Anyone else??

I have been on these injections every week since 15wks and unfortunately contractions got a bit intense and I went into preterm labor anyways.

However, even though the labor dilated me, I am confident that had I not had these makena shots each week I honestly do not think my cervix would have held up.

I am getting the p17 injections. I started at 16 weeks and only have 4 more left. I do get BH contractions nothing regular tho. They are not too painful but more uncomfortable. I have to actually breath through them. They last anywhere from 30sec to over a minute. Also my first experience with them.
