Has anyone ever use this for their baby? I bought it and then I read the directions and it says for babies under two consult a physician or healthcare provider however there's a baby on the front! So I got the wrong Orajel so if I just use a little bit on his gums would that harm anything?

Thanks mama of 5!

I usually use gripe water when they start to hurt him for some reason. Mothers intuition?? Idk! but the first time I used it it definitely made a difference so I use that now instead!

definitely works really well! And is all natural which I LOVE

Little remidies gripe water. It has a very small numbing affect that wears off very quickly. Will help little guy while sleeping at night. You can find it almost anywhere. My doctor recomended this with every little one. Works wonders.

Most pediatricians now say no orajel or teething tablets because it numbs the throat. Basically teething rings and Tylenol are the few options now apparently.

My sister's pediatrician advised her not to use orajel because it thickens the gum line making it harder for the teeth to come through

I would say if he's in a lot of pain give a little bit of Tylenol

Hmmm ok I don't want to use it then! I was against it for SO long and then I broke down because he slept so terribly and was miserable and I hated seeing him that way!!

But it always helps when I rub my finger along his gums. He likes that. And he loves the Sophie giraffe but he wakes up crying and won't stop until I put my finger in his mouth and he chomps down soooo hard and then he's the same smiley baby that he is during the day but I am definitely not going to be using this!

There are concerns that it numbs not only their gums but their entire mouths and throat so choking hazards are increased. I use camilia drops and I put roman chamomile and lavender essential oils in a roller ball to roll along her jawline. This seems to do the trick. Tylenol can also be used and motrin after they're 6 months. Cucumber rings also help. Good luck! We're going to be dealing with teething for years to come!

I used it a couple times with my daughter but it didn't make much difference I second Tylenol and freezer wash clothes. You can also freeze a spoon and gently rub it on the babies gums!

I've read the FDA warns not to use it on babies but I'm not sure tbh

When my daughter was teething my dad kept pushing me to get orajel. I never did because I didn't feel comfortable with it. Then there was a recall and I was really glad I didn't! I recommend Motrin and wet washcloths in the freezer.
