Milk tongue or thrush??

I tried wiping it off but I couldn't get my finger far enough back. It's pretty far back on his tongue and he was getting super ticked that my finger was wedged in his mouth lol.
Although today when he was crying I did notice that there was less on his tongue than yesterday so I think it's just milk tongue
Have you tried wiping it off with a wet washcloth?

He isn't in any pain or anything like that. I'm just not sure what to do.
Does it wash off? Is he in pain?
Does it wipe off? If it doesn't wipe off its thrush. This is what my daughters thrush looked like when she first got it. It was thick like that. Now every time I see milk on her tongue I hurry and wipe it off lol.
Looks like milk tongue, and the reason they get it is because they can't transfer the milk appropriately due to mouth restrictions. My daughter had milk tongue, but it was all at the back. She also had other feeding issues, and after talking to a preferred provider it was noted she had tongue and lip tie that was restricting her. We got them released, and it has been the best thing ever! Our pediatrician said it was a "slight tie" one at first at her 5 day old checkup but there's no slight or mild. You're either tied or your not!
My daughter is EBF and has a totally white tongue from milk. She was at the dr Saturday and the dr said it's not thrush. If you don't see any other white patches on the lips and in the mouth and your baby is acting fine, it's probably not thrush.
My son is EBF and always has milk tongue. But I think his is more centered and to far for me to get to it to try and wipe it. I'm not sure about this though, I was scared my son had it also but it wasn't
I say it may be the beginning of thrush I'd go to the doctor to make sure because ei it is you can nip it in the bud right now and not have the pain I've been dealing with...keep us updated

I formula feed as well as breast feed (supply issues). I'm not seeing any anywhere else but it doesnt wipe off easy like what I've read online.
Look under his lips and hour cheeks as if it's thrush he'll have white stuff there too. Probably just milk.
My son never acted in pain, and I didn't ever get anything on my breast FYI. And in my experience, I don't ever see milk tongue on EBF babies (not sure what you do).

He doesn't seem to be in any pain. He still eats normal and takes a paci just fine. I've also heard that if he has it then I would probably have it on my breasts and I don't have any pain or itching or anything like that
I would say milk tongue, but to be sure try wiping it off with a wet washcloth. If it comes off easily it's milk, I believe thrush can't just be wiped off, at least not as easy as milk. Is he acting like he's in pain? Fingers crossed it's just milk tongue. ??
