Ruined breastfeeding
I may have ruined my chances to breastfeed. We've been doing formula and pumping breastmilk to track how much he eats since he had issues with weight gain but now he just gets frustrated with breastfeeding because it doesn't come out as fast as the bottle.

Try a nipple shield and pace feeding with bottles

I've used nipple shields since the day he was born (hospital lactation consultant advised us) and then I've met with two other consultants and they both say he latched really well (which he does, he's just really impatient).
How do you pace with the bottle? I usually feed one ounce and then burp and then feed another 1-1.5 ounces. I'm not sure if that's what you mean though.

Ohh noo that sucks ?
Do you just breastfeed at night or do you also give him the bottle?

I had to do the same thing cause he want gaining enough weight and yesterday i finaly just have up. He fights me so hard every feeding and had to feed for so long due to a terrible latch no matter what i do. Iv been to 3 lc and i still use a nipple shield and i have scabs on my nipples still. I'm so sad and heartbroken but he is way happier with the bottle. Plus i was spending so much time trying to feed him that my 19month old is getting ignored. I hope it works for you in the long run!

I think you can google videos on pace feeding with bottles. Also, go down to the slowest flow nipple you can, size 0 or preemie.

The couple of times my husband had to give my son the bottle he did pace feeding and we haven't had any issues ... But we have literally only given him the bottle twice

I would pull the bottle out of his mouth more often. When I was pumping and bottle feeding I would take it out probably every 20 seconds for a few seconds. If you're giving a breastmilk bottle you should try and make it last as long as he would be on your breast

I would slowly transition him to breastfeeding. Like only breast feed him in the mornings. Then eventually get rid of the afternoon bottle. Then next you get rid of the late afternoon, etc. Until he's fully breast. However, if he's had problems gaining weight, then maybe pumping/formula is the best for him. I would just enjoy the morning breastfeeding sessions! You need to do what is best for your mental health.

I usually only breast feed first thing in the morning but sometimes throughout the day I will to see how he responds, which is usually pretty good.
When he is tired and hungry is when he's not into it. He just doesn't get it fast enough or get enough and it frustrates him. Which is sad for me because I don't just want to give him formula all the time but if I don't have anything pumped for him (I.e. In the middle of the night) then formula is what I have to give him. I feel like I'm hurting my supply by doing that and also hurting his chances to be an exclusively breast fed baby.
But just like pp said, it may just be what he needs. He needs to gain weight and I don't want to hinder that by trying to selfishly get him to breast feed (at least that's how I feel). Giving him pumped breastmilk is still breast milk and if it makes him a happier, healthier little man then I need to be ok with that.

Google early hunger cues and try to latch him before he gets to the crying/angry part.

Transition to slower flow nipples. And increase time on the nipple he will be fustrated but if you keep at it he will do better. You have to be patient mama it will get easier. My daughter just now started to nurse properly and now latches right I've been bottle feeding with breast milk since birth but I never let her forget the boob. You have to reteach but you can do it.

I had this problem and LO went back to breast after I changed out her nipples to preemie flow nipples (Dr. Browns)
