Thank you all for your responses!! He's feeding pretty well and starting to hear him swallow! I've got him skin to skin a lot and I slept with him in my arms and his head near my breast all night. I think we're moving in a great direction!

They weighed him last night and he has only lost 1 oz so they think he's definitely getting what he needs!

I'm having a horrible time with breastfeeding ? very discouraged and really about to give up. Little bear lost to much weight so they have me supplementing with formula but the amount of formula they wanted me to give him was all he was eating and I didn't find a way to have time to pump so now I'm not getting anything out. So I understand where ur coming from with it being difficult it's SOOO frustrating?

A friend of mine had a c/s in feb took her almost 3 weeks for her milk to come in fully. She had a lot of swelling. He was getting some but not as much as they liked.

Well I'm having the same issue with latching and needing a shield which sucks at night cause I'm constantly washing it and sterilizing it. I got my milk in at about 4 days and only an oz both boobs. I'm now 10 days pp and get 1-3 oz each time I pump. I also had a c-section which was planned at 37 weeks. I honestly produced more with my 23 week preemie also a c-section. By 4 days pp with my preemie I was overflowing a 4 oz bottle.

Yes, breastfeeding is so hard! I love it and it's so special, but it's very challenging for sure!

Just keep nursing him as much as possible and your milk will start to slowly come in. Good luck!

I'm pretty sure that mine didn't come in until day 4 after my section 2 years ago. I also had trouble on one side due to a flatter nipple and didn't know to use a shield. It took a while for my son to latch properly on that side and I got a horrible crack ?I'm hoping that since I was able to bf him for almost 18 months, that breastfeeding this baby will be easier.

If you're worried about how much milk your baby is getting- a lactation consultant can help you do a weighed feeding after your milk does come in! It really helped ease my fears that my son wasn't getting enough. That and time- seeing him gain his weight back at his checkups reassured me that we were doing ok. But I was so paranoid at first that I bought my own infant scale ? so I definitely understand the worry!

Mine was a few days after c/s

If you put ice or a cold cloth on your nipples for a few mins before you nurse it helps them come out a little more

Mine took 5 days to come in after my c/s. But I had enough to nurse twins. It will come!

My little guy doesn't really like skin to skin. He like freaks the second he's out of his swaddle haha!!

Everyone's milk comes in at different times, mine came in on morning 3with my son after c section, just don't stress! Keep baby on breast for as long as he wants and lots of skin to skin will help it come it! We slept skin to skin every night in the hospital which I think really helped they tried to make me put him in the bassinet but I refused lol

Stress won't help milk come in so just relax it will happen! Just keep baby at breast as much as possible

Also, did you get an abdominal binder at the hospital? If not, see if they'll supply you with one!

Don't stress! It may take longer simply due to having a c section. Just keep track of his wet diapers and if you hear him swallowing, he's definitely getting his nutrients.

Yes I did! She was so great! I'm here another night and she will come by and see us in the morning before we go home.

His stomach is the size of a marble right now. He truly doesn't need much!!! Have you seen a Lactation consultant in the hospital?
