The fact that no one saw an issue with this before it was published is incredibly sad!

@newly - did you hear the NBC commentators when Katinka from Hungary won her swimming gold in the 400 IM? They panned to her coach/husband and said something like "here is the man responsible for that amazing performance". Seriously! Doesn't look like he was in the pool...

At first I didn't notice what was wrong or missing. Then I read the comments and realized her name isn't there. That's messed up, she's deserves recognition by name. Not by "wife of..."

Kay, except we still don't know her name thanks to the bull s*** headline. It's not like it would have been hard to write "Jane doe, Mr. famous footballer's wife, won a medal, yay!"

It's click bait. They have to make the article head "interesting" to catch the audience's attention so they click on the article to find out who she is and who her husband is.

Thats the whole point pp.

She wasnt recognized. Not her name, her sport, her achievement. It wasnt mentioned.

Its like us birthing our child and everyone recognizing the father and we dont even get a pat on the back... When it was US who birthed. How do you not see it.

Eta - headline can at least state her name though!

Honestly when I read this I failed to see what was wrong? I don't think anything is sad with this at all but that's just my opinion

Good for her for getting a bronze medal. Sad that the news is reporting such an important event in her life as such though. ?

Нравится Ответить

Sadly, this doesn't surprise me one bit. ?

I guess I can see your point pp, I mean if I allowed a man to define me I guess I wouldn't be offended either.

Just some real T.

SHE deserves acknowledgement for what she has accomplished.

Нравится Ответить

Wow! This is so wrong?

Нравится Ответить

Are you more offended by them not posting her name or saying shes married to someone famous and also not mentioning him. Its all around bad reporting for not naming either but i dont find it offensive.

Нравится Ответить

Well how the hell is she going to have her name out there now that she's just someone wife pp?

So if she was bears lineman and her husband won bronze in rio and nobody knew him, just her. And the headline was linemans husband wins Bronze in rio. Would that be ok? I think so, i dont find anything upsetting about the headline because most olympians are unknowns in the gen. Public because ppl keep track of popular sports not curling or rifle shooting or whatever sport shes in.

That's sad. Actually, that's more than sad. She's accomplished something people dream about and she's just " _____'s wife"? ?

Нравится Ответить

Wow. That is sad.

Don't you know women are nobodies and are only recognized by their husbands achievement?

The fact that all you know about her is what her husband does. Not her name, not her sport.

Нравится Ответить

So she gets recognized because of her husband...
