best parenting advice

What is your best piece parenting advice?

Комментарии

This is between you, your so, and kids (sometimes the dr too) and what works for you. Not the world, your parents, the in laws or any other advice giver.

Buy all the same colour of socks, like all black socks so matching isn't anything to think about. Sounds silly but I wish I had done this lol.

Once they hit a certain age do not bring snacks to the park, just water. At 3yrs old my son would NEVER want to leave the park and sometimes 3+hours is not possible. But if I only bring water to drink eventually he would happily agree to go home to eat. Once he would leave with no more tantrums I started bringing snacks again.

Wait until they are ready to toilet train. Try for 3days and if it's going nowhere wait a few months and then try again. Once they are truly ready it will be very easy.

We don't do time out timers. They can come out of time out as soon as they are done with their fit and ready to talk to resolve the problem. It's been more effective for us.

Do what comes natural to you and always make quality time for your kids.

Never discipline out of anger.

@nan is so right! I've tried to start limiting myself to only when DS is sleeping and it's made a world of difference.

Stay off ur phone!! I need to take my own advice. It's valuable time we can be spending with the kids. My one friend doesn't even notice when I'm visiting her cuz she's so addicted.

And apparently one BB mom would say..

Melatonin every night

Mine would be children are little people with real feelings. Respect is important even to them

Remember that no one knows your child or your situation better than you do. Try not to let the small voices of others go against what you feel is right.

Learn to not care as much. Learn to not care that the house is a mess. Learn to not care that you're due for a haircut, or in need of a shower. Learn to not care what people think you should be doing. Learn to not care about the stigma around mental illness and get help if you need it. Because you will get so caught up in caring about the stupid things that you could miss the big things.

As my son is only 4 months old, my best parenting advice is to enjoy every moment. Time really does go by so quickly and kids learn so much so fast.

Нравится Ответить

Not every moment of disobedience is defiance. Children have bad days and grumpy moods just like adults, so try not to take everything personally.

Praise the small things so they will have the confidence to accomplish big things!

If you encourage them they learn confidence ❤

Hey great minds think alike.

Learn to pick your battles...

Do I want lg playing in my Tupperware cabinet? No. But is it allowing to put the dishes away? Yes. OK you win little guy.

Нравится Ответить

Pick your battles. I've definitely learned that with my two year old.

My son responds best when I tell him what I don't like. .

Ex: "mommy doesn't like when you do that, it makes me really sad", "what you did really hurt mommy's feelings"...he's super sensitive so it gets him every time!

What do YOU judge

Clearly, no one is a perfect parent nor do we know everything. But what’s something you judge a parent off of or just irks you?

I have older children and working on baby #4 maybe I should have clarified the age group
