I posted when we did our baby registry, but not where. I was just super excited to prep for my son.

Now, it depends who she has on Instagram too, I think. Is it all family, or do random people follow her too?

? maybe just trying to get people on the role. I remember making 2 lists in 2 different stores. Walked for hours, I was about 6mnths along and was exhausted by the end of the day.

After all of that "pretend" shopping I received 0 out of those 2 lists/stores???????????????

There is so much about showers that I find tacky. It is the parent's responsibility to provide for a new baby. Showers are a celebration of life and any gifts received are a blessing. I attended a shower where the mom-to-be complained that she didn't expect to still have to buy so much stuff after her shower and she didn't know what she was going to do. She was obviously disappointed. My first response was to feel bad for not getting her more, after spending $50 on my husbands co-worker's wife that I had met twice. My second response was regret for attending her shower ?

@Sassy, I found out the sex of my baby at 16 weeks...

I think it's tacky. She is only 16 weeks along. I started on my registry around that time but it was on private and not shared until a month before my shower. Plus, it was only available to those who were invited. She should have waited to announce any registry details until she decided on whether or not to have a shower.

I think it's tacky.

@pp she may know the sex already. We found out at 12 weeks through blood work done.

Not tacky to post the info to fb, but what I find tacky is that she's only 16 wks pregnant. She doesn't even know the sex right...lol

My cousin who is now 25 weeks pregnant posted 3 statuses that I found incredibly tacky on Facebook

"I know y'all have started buying baby gifts already so we made a registry at Walmart.. Blah blah blah"

"ATTENTION EVERYONE if you want to come to my baby shower please text me your address asap so I can send you an invitation" that one wasn't so bad besides the all caps part lol.

And the worst.. "So I only received a handful of addresses after I posted my last status, so I am posting again. If anyone wants to come to my baby shower send me your address.

I decided if she wants me at her baby shower she can either invite me on Facebook or ask me for my address. What's the point in being invited to something if you had to ask to be invited? Why not just post the time date and place on Facebook if your just inviting everyone.

Anyway the point is at least your cousin isn't as tacky as mine!

Our registry went on the baby shower invitations only. I had a small shower, those who weren't invited but still wanted to gift is easily found our registry on their own accord.

I posted on FB where I was registered but only because people kept commenting and asking me. I also didn't post the info until I was 30 weeks.

I think it's extremely tacky . It's like hinting to people that you want them to get you something . I definitely would not want to get her something .

I think it is tacky. But, for myself, I don't like to ask people for anything UNLESS they offer first. That's just me though.

On another note, maybe people were asking her and she thought it would be easier to do it this way...

We have the same family, we're not close at all. Unless it's his family, I trust no one is clamoring to buy her things

I did this. But only because i forgot to include it on my invitations. I did it all last minute so everyone was asking me for my registry and i didn't have one. I told them all i would put it on the invitations, well i forgot. So i made a fb post and it said hey guys, for the people who are attending my shower and wondering my registry info, i forgot to include it on my invitations so here it is. Or something along those lines. I never added much to my registry though, i wouldn't have felt right adding big expensive items. Mine was mostly soaps, lotions, socks, bibs, bottles, diapers and wipes, and just little things like that. We bought all of our necessities before our shower so we made it clear that we didn't need anything and a gift most certainly wasn't required. We asked for a small book with a message in it instead of cards. Everyone got us tons though, but it certainly wasn't expected.

And this is why people have a bad view on baby showers.

Begging for stuff so others can buy everything for you. No.

Way tacky. I wouldn't get her anything.

I find this no tackier than people requesting cash for their showers.

Or throwing your own for that matter.

Pp where did you get that she is 16 years old?

Ответить

I personally wouldn't tell people like that, I would only tell people if they asked me for the info. But I was just about finished with my registry by the time i was 20 weeks because I was so excited about it so I don't think it's weird that she finished it. Shell probably add things here and there. But yeah, that would turn me off from wanting to get her anything because it seems like she is expecting it.

Maybe she's not having a shower but people wanted to get her gifts? Or maybe she forgot to put where she registered on her invites? I wouldn't call it tacky unless it was unsolicited, I would just assume she had out of town family hounding her for her registry.

shes 16. she probably isnt sure how things work with this type of stuff. if it was an older mature woman then yes it would be tacky.

It's kind of early and I feel like that's info you give to people attending your baby shower. Or someone who may not be able to attend but what's to get you a gift you send the info.

Ответить

I don't think it's weird. It's way easier than sending out invites to everyone with the info on it and it saves money.

I just absolutely love some women on here! Some woman wants to write on another women's post telling her she shouldn't be having sex at all in the beginning of pregnancy. I didn't know she was her doctor. Then she wants to tell me that the first trimester is only 1-9 weeks pregnant. And she lost her baby at 4 weeks pregnant due to sex. Like sweetie that's your period starting!
