how upfront where you?

In the wake of everything happening with the duggar family, we've learned Josh told anna 2 years before proposing.

I told him everything once I trusted him enough and we started to get serious. I don't believe in secrets

Pretty immediate.. I agree that you just know... I think you get to a point in your life where you know yourself so well including what you will and won't tolerate and have actually learned from your mistakes so you are very open about it. Really strengthens the couples purpose.

My dh knew everything once we knew we were moving in to a serious relationship, he shared everything with me as well.

He knew everything by the time we were official for a month. Now, I don't even know what a secret is lol

My DH is the first partner I've ever felt comfortable telling everything to.

He is so nonjudgmental that it was hard to believe at first - and even though I've had a far more 'colorful' past than he, it's almost like the more he knows about my history the more amazed he is by the person I am today.

But I've never intentionally victimized anyone, and I'm not sure how he'd feel about that, especially if I didn't have any treatment or consequence.

My husband and I have been together for 13 years and have never had secrets. They are toxic to any relationship. Even if others tell me secrets they know that I don't keep things from my husband but it won't go further than him.

The whole duggar family is so screwed up.

Dh and I met in a land called MySpace lol. We talked for over a month before meeting in person. Within the first 2 weeks I told him something that could have been a deal breaker. Well we still ended up meeting and actually the week before we met that deal breaker was gone so it didn't matter. Everyone has a past it's easier to get it out before getting serious.

Before dh and I got together I was helping him through a breakup as a friend. We sat up talking for hours and hours some nights. Pretty much everything about our past relationships was divulged during that time, and when we actually started dating there were no secrets. We're both very open people though, so it was never a big deal. To this day we can laugh about all the crazy chicks he dated and how much of a tease I used to be with zero jealousy or hard feelings.

Dh & I have been best friends since I was 13. So he's always known everything. Good or bad .

I made it a point to tell him everything I though might be a deal breaker in our first three months of dating.

I don't like to waste my time, and I don't like wasting other people's time. I wasn't about to let real feelings develop and then drop a bombshell.

I had to be blunt about any "secrets" i could have had. Most of them were related to how my ex abused me, so I kinda had to explain early on that certain touches could make me panicky, and that I wasn't flinching away when we argued with raised voices because of anything he did.

DH knew almost everything within a few weeks and everything by our one year anniversary... (Of dating, not marriage) Some things take courage & time to tell.

I feel like something as serious as child molestation should be revealed out the gate though.

He knows everything he wants or needs to know. We don't keep anything from eachother but there are some things that neither of us wants to know.

I'm usually pretty open so he knew everything in the first year I think. The only thing I waited almost 6 years to tell him was the identity of my rapist. He is a close family member that we have to interact with on occasion. I still hold a lot of shame about the incident. I didn't think I'd tell any person ever. No one but my husband and the attacker even knows that it happened. The only people that I've really spoken too about it are strangers on the internet in support groups and what not.

I could never have married a man who told me he had molested a child. Even if he believed he was recovered. I could never trust him around our children.

Its complicated. We lived in the same town and went to the same high school and dated when I was a freshman. He knew I got pregnant. And he knew I had a baby, but I hid the "adoption" for many years and he never asked. We got married just over a year after I signed those papers. I wasn't ready to admit that the reason I tried to kill myself multiple times, and turned to drugs and alcohol to numb my immense pain was because of that.

I've never been with anyone serious enough to tell all my secrets. So when I find someone I'll actually be in a serious relationship with & who I can trust I'll tell them everything.

I don't have that many secrets, my DH knows almost everything about me, at least the important ones.

As for my past as a crazy partyer and wild vacations etc. before I met him, no need to mention and my DH doesn't care to know.

I don't really have secrets. I have family 'secrets' that he still doesn't really know the full extent of because I don't really ever think about it

There goes perfect @red again. ?

My husband and I got together pretty young. I was 16 he was 17. There wasn't much of a past for either of us. We were friends for a couple years before that. We pretty much knew everything there was to know before we started dating. Read: making out like horny teenagers, because that's what we were! ??

My husband and I were great friends for years before dating so not only did we already know a lit about each other we trusted each other too. We were very honest with each other while still being sensitive to boundaries. He told me about anything that could be considered "shady" from his past and I did the same for him but we were clear when we didn't want to know. For example my husband didn't want to kniw how many men I had been with with before him. I know his number but to this day he doesn't know mine.

All our secrets were nothing compared to this Josh dugger dousey though lol.

My SO was my friend first, so he knew all about my past before we dated. Him and I started working together when I was still engaged to someone else a couple years ago ha.

Full disclosure before we got married. And honestly, my husband was there for a lot of the stupid crap I did. We met when I was 17... But I'm pretty blunt. I'll tell it like it is about pretty much anything.

Dh knew me for 4 years and we dated off and on before we got back together for the final time and got engaged/married/pregnant so he knows me better than anyone else. The only people that have been close with me longer than Dh are my immediate family. We've been together since 2009 and at the end of the month we will celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary.

I was upfront from the beginning.. All the things that were/are extremely important to me. As for Anna & Josh I don't think I would've married him.

I'm always the first to say "guess what dumb shît I did today." I'd rather he hear it from me first.
