consignment stores
I can never understand what people have against used baby cloths. There is something oddly satisfying any paying pennies on the dollar for something you know someone paid a ridiculous amount of money for. My son wears nearly new Nike ' s originally sold new in the store for $40, I paid $5 for them!
But you'll wear those clothes a hell of a lot longer than your dd will lol.
And heck my son had Ralph Lauren pants, nikes, and a caters shirt on today. I had sears jeans and a Walmart workout shirt with knock off sperrys on lol
I don't have any near me so I haven't gone but my sister has a boy who's almost two and she sent me some of his Obie's that are nuteral and some that have deer on em ?. But I'm having a girl and she also sent me all his baby socks she had and well it's not that I can't afford them it's cloths are cloths I'm having a shower and I'm giving myself two months after shower to buy what ever else is needed. Plus my first baby would blow up her Onesies so bad I had to cut some of them of because I didn't know how to take em of covered in poop ?
I go to snooty fox all the time and shop on the angel fox racks where everything is $1 I get my work clothes and maternity clothes from this rack and mostly everything is in good condition. I have purchased shoes from goodwill $200 shoes for $5. $100 pair cowboy boots for $20. I stay thrift store shopping and styling. My daughter who is 7 always finds herself good stuff like a wool gap coat brand new for $8 with 10% off. I like good stuff but I don't like to pay the real prices but I always find good items I'm selective about the consignment shops I shop though.
I just went into Once Upon a Child for my unborn son, since I won't be having a shower. I spent $50, I only shopped in the clearance section which is an additional 50% off and I filled his closet!
Brands like Nike, Jordan, Carter's and Gymboree! Onesies, pants, socks, hats! He is set.
So worth it to me because I know he will not wear them long enough. If I shopped at conventional stores I would have spent hundreds!
Buy used and save the difference!
I look forward to rhea Lana consignment every fall and spring! With a 2yr old ds and a newborn dd I but their play clothes there. I bought ds a pair of good jeans at a consignment last year for $2. He was still crawling but also learning to walk. He put holes in both knees within 2 weeks. I had no problem since they were only $2. If they were $15+ is have been pissed!
Love consignment ! Once upon a child just opened a location in my state and I haven't been yet but I wanna check it out !
I never find anything for myself though :( I'm not very fashion inclined so I can't see a piece and think "hmm this would go great with this and this and this" but sometimes I go in thinking of a specific item and of course never come out with it ! But I have good luck with kids stuff !
I couldn't afford anything new for my first daughter but I got great stuff off fb and at consignment stores! I'm very thankful for that. This time I was able to buy everything new but I will be donating everything afterwards to a family that needs cause I know what it's like to really have nothing !
i am a very cheap person and well at the moment i cant afford going to normal stores .. the things i have bought for my first unborn child so far has been used things .. i wish i could do better but i cant .. i definetely wont be buying a used car seat or used baby bottles . i dont trust that !
I think it depends on the quality I the store. Some places have things that are old and have some (small) signs of wear and tear. But, for the most part, I agree. I shop in consignment stores for myself and my babies when I can. The best is getting sales at the consignment stores. We managed to get a bunch of new-looking dresses for dd for $1-2 each. I love it!
I don't like buying from a consignment shop, only because I don't know where they came from and what's been on the clothes. Yes, I know, clothes can be washed but just the idea of it, I don't like. I have no problem buying used baby clothes from friends/family, I just can't bring myself to buy clothes from someone I don't know.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...

Short Luteal Phase2
A new post for katie058 and hopefully bcappel soontoo, as ours got too long!
I usually shop clearance, and off season. I can buy brand new for the price of consignment. Or a lot of clothing on craigslist. I at least know a little more about the clothes than the goodwill.
Also, since I have all boys,I can pack it up in the garage in totes, and save even more. My mom loves goodwill, etc, but ours sucks near me, so it's not worth it.
