Jill Dillard (duggar) is pregnant!
Jill from 19 kids and counting got married 8 weeks ago and is now 6 weeks pregnant! That family is extremely fertile!
Adult children are controlled by fear and shame in these types of situations ik people who had very similar upbringing.. very sad.
I'm not saying saving yourself do marriage is a bad thing if its what you want but you shouldn't be made to feel unclean or ashamed of your body and sexuality
Sure they're choosing that life for themselves once they're adults but.. When you're raised as sheltered as they are, and as strictly as they are, there isn't much of an alternative because as far as they're concerned, any other lifestyle is wrong.
When you hammer your beliefs into your children from infancy, they're going to grow up believing that is the only way to live... Especially when they're homeschooled via the Advanced Training Institute. ?
I myself am referring to the shows on mtv :0\ I love how as soon as teen mom is mentioned teen moms come storming in thinking we are talking about them smh. Relax everything isnt about you guys. Your lives havent been played out on tv so I have no clue how you handle being a "teen mom" im specifically speaking of the show
I would totally rather see Michelle have 20 more kids than Jeanelle from teen mom have another one. And congrats on her daughters pregnancy! Some of us had kids before we even got married and still enjoyed marriage. Let her live. Again at least she got married first. All of the teen moms and 16 and pregnant girls arent great figures for our young girls to look to so why not her? Now I cant say I would be shocked if she has umpteen children like her mom, I would just hope she at least spaces them out and live a little more.
I say congrats to them! Sure it's early, but they stated it was a complete surprise. I love their show and their values. I think the way they court instead of date is really awesome. It wasn't that long go that everyone did that. My grandmother remembers when she used to have to have a chaperone while out with my grandfather. I'm not going to comment much in their discipline methods as I don't know them. Clearly whatever it is they do it works. Their older children are successful, some of the girls are midwives or doulas, the older boys have their own businesses. I'm hoping Derrick and Jill will choose to continue their missionary trips when their child is old enough.
I know a lot of people that have children and are never married, they even have children with multiple men and never marry any of them. Our divorce rate is 60% in this country, and a majority of people date, sleep with multiple partners, and even have kids prior to marriage so clearly dating around doesn't mean a successful marriage or family life.
I wish I could go back and erase a few men from my past. I'm not saying courting is for me or my family but who is to say it's a bad thing especially when in general the family unit is in shambles in this nation.
I watch the show too but they are crazy. I you really research them then you'll learn about how awful they really are. I didn't think so either because if what they show. I thought they were a little strange, but I didn't know it was that bad.
Btw I also think that they have some beautiful kids though!
Ughh If half of you guys actually read the Bible and knew God's stand points about everything in life you wouldnt have anything bad to say about this family that has chosen to live a Godly life. I wish I had grown up like this :( Maybe I wouldnt have gone through to much emotional and physical pain at such a young age. All they are doing is openly practicing their religion quit talking crap about them :( More people should be like them.
She openly talks about training her kids to, have self control, and basically trains them to sit quietly and still so that when they need to, it isn't a struggle. She never said she hits them if they move. I just find it ver uh hard to believe that they constantly have cameramen, producers, news people I n and out of their house and they are just beating their kids into submission. I agree that tv shows what they want us to se, but covering up, child abuse? I don't buy it.
A lot of kids don't go to college. I think its around 65% og high school graduates enroll in college. Two of the girls are training to be midwives, one has studied photography and has started photographing families and weddings etc. A couple of them were volunteer firefighters.
And i still think the abuse thing is bs, those little kids are always running around playing and acting crazy. Certainly not sitting still in the middle of a blanket. About the dating thing, they practice courting which yes requires chaperones and stuff, but still it's just different not wrong. I think just like with a lot of other things we see on tv.
Michelle duggar has spoken openly of their child rearing methods. To train up a child, the book that caused a huge uproar across.. well everywhere, are essentially the methods they implement.
It's always creeped me out that even when the duggar kids are crying, they're smiling. They're taught from a VERY YOUNG age that not smiling is a sign of disrespect and is worthy of punishment. A lot is edited, they're not going to show Michelle blanket training the infants and risk the show being shut down. If you can't show a kid being spanked on reality TV, you're also not going to see children (infants included) being beaten with switches.
It was only after a huge backlash from the public after finding out that the female children were not allowed to pursue post secondary school that they finally allowed their daughters to pursue midwifery if they wish, but otherwise they're destined for lives as homemakers.
Their family is a train wreck. I totally still watch it though ?
Pp, sorry I don't believe that these kids are living in fear. I have seen children from abusive homes where they cannot move without parents permission, sorry but those kids are not living in fear.
While.their practices may seem odd to us, they are raising their children the way they feel is right. It is likely their children will never have to suffer from a STD, or an unwanted pregnancy, because of their views on dating. Just because they are different doesn't mean they are wrong.
They are "quiverfull", which is a Christian off shoot found in a few denominations, with deep belief in patriarchy, chastity, and having as many children as possible. The Duggars use To Train Up A Child as their "discipline" method, a book which is brutal in its methods and has even caused death. They've hidden this fact very well with their show, but prior to fame Michelle was very active through her church in advocating its use. Anything but immediate, blind, and smiling obedience is considered a punishable offense. That's why the children are always smiling, is literally been beat into them because "God said spare the rod, spoil the child".
Michelle duggar was actually on BC at one point. After her oldest was born she had a miscarriage, she got pregnant while on BC and she believes the BC caused her miscarriage so from then on out they decided to just let whatever happens come naturally.
Sounds like Jill and her husband r just starting with this thinking from the start.
Why would you feel sorry for them?! All of their children seem so happy, and they are really sweet kids. They have loving parents that care for them and a supportive family unit. People used to have tons of kids all the time, and those kids actually had to work on farms and stuff so I'm not sure why anyone would feel bad for them?
