This has happened to me with all of three pregnancies now. With my first two, it lasted the entire pregnancy, so I don’t have high hopes this time around. Bleck!

I had this problem so what I did was brush without the toothpaste a few times and then rinse my mouth with the mouth wash. I got the same results as if I used the toothpaste and it kept me from gagging.

OMG I am so happy to have found this post! I thought I was just having really bad morning sickness, but every time I brush my tongue, I have thrown up vile or gagged. Now I know I am not alone!

Hahaha I️ didn’t know this was common. I gag so bad when I brush my teeth!!! Sometimes I only get like two seconds of brushing in before I have to spit and rinse.

I am the same way!!! I dread brushing my teeth but I have a lot of teeth problems so I need to do a thorough job. It sucks!!!

I had this problem too. My doctor just put me on medication (dicletin) a few days ago because my morning sickness had gotten so bad.

I throw up at the thought of brushing my teeth! I gently do the teeth but am avoiding the tounge and back of throat at the moment. Mainly concentrating on sides and front. It’s very quick, then follow with mouth wash.

Chew bitter kola it will reduce the vomiting

I threw up today as well. I have a bad gag reflex normally, with pregnancy it is even worse.

I have this problem as well. I’m not a puker but brushing my teeth is a constant gagging battle

Try taking deep slow breaths afterwards or drink some ice cold water before you brush. It helps but I always find it better to just throw up and get it out of my system
