Depression & Lack of sleep
Depression & Lack of sleep
I've suffered from depression for 10+ years and it often manifests itself in manic depressive episodes. But I felt I had it under control because I would only be affected about every other month. Never took meds for it. So before I got pregnant I felt like superwoman. Woke up early every day, worked out regularly, kept up with house chores, did well in my college classes, and was working hard at my career 50-55 hours a week.

Mama, I'm sending many hugs and prayers your way. The power of the mind is amazing. If you have faith, rest in Him. He can/will carry you through. Acknowledging your difficulty already gets you one step ahead of any potential problem. Great job! Now, have faith in yourself. Break your goals down and make them reasonable. Pregnancy without depression is difficult enough and with, well, it's unexplainable. You CAN do this. Depression during pregnancy is not a guarantee that you will have PPD. Don't dwell on the "what-ifs" but on today. One hour at a time. Again you CAN do this. Have you thought about getting professional assistance to help you through? Best of wishes!!!
