Kegels?

Kegels. I'm not sure I'm spelling the word right. I've heard about these things off and on through the years and how they are vaginal workouts that help with natural delivery but I'm not exactly sure I know what they do. My question is for anyone who has given birth before. Are these things important and if so how many of these need to be done? Do I even need to worry about them before I get into the third trimester?

The only reason I heard about kegels was because for the first time I am starting to leak when I sneeze or cough and the internet led me to kegels. I am trying start and stop when I'm peeing because that's what Google told me to do but it's not really working lol. This is just such a foreign thing to me.

In addition to helping with delivery a strong pelvic floor helps with so much more. It can help with those little leaks caused from coughing/sneezing/laughing both during & after pregnancy. I do pelvic floor exercises even when I'm not preggers just bc pregnancy puts so much strain on your pelvic floor. I highly recommend them.

Yes! Yes! And Yes!!! Look up Pelvic Floor Exercises. The stronger your pelvic wall is before birth the better your ability to push baby out and even better, to heal afterwards. It can also make your intimate times better for you and hubby. You can do Kegels anywhere, anytime. Noone can tell if you're doing them so you don't need privacy. Sitting, standing, driving, etc. Even during intimacy which can feel good to him. Hold your muscles in like you're trying to stop urinating, hold for a few seconds. Release, repeat 10-20 times(or as many as you want). Do this as many times through the day as you can remember. Pelvic floor exercises are even good for men bc other than vaginal strength(for the women)they can help with incontinence and other things. Hope this helps.

Bumping for you, I haven’t given birth vaginally but used a different form of them to strengthen my pelvic floor after birth! I think anything that would strengthen your pelvic muscles would help with pushing!

Took this lastnight...and I'm not sure how I should feel. I've made a terrible mistake by having sex so soon after having a baby but it has made such a precious thing. I really don't want to have an abortion but my Fiancé does. I understand why he wants to go that route but I just would feel absolutely terrible about doing that. I cried all night...I really don't know what to do. PLEASE NO JUDGING IM ONLY POSTING THIS FOR SUPPORT.
