To you ladies who have had a sweep that worked...

1. How dilated/effaced were you when the dr did it?

2. How did you feel afterwards?

3. How long after it was done did you start seeing results?

Anybody? Feeling super discouraged right now.

Following

First member sweep at 39w&3d and only 1cm dilated. Did not feel much of a difference.

Second member sweep at 40w&3d and 2cm dilated. Some mucus plug came out and had some contraction but did not last.

Third member sweep at 40w&6d and 3cm dilated today. Having some more mucus plug coming out & Having some contractions but there to far.

Yeah your body really has to be ready for a sweep to push you over the edge. I had one today at 1.5cm and I can tell you it hasn't done much and I know it wont put me into labor. I've been crampy off and on but nothing to right home about. With my 1st son she did it twice and I don't think it ever sent me into labor. My 2nd son she did it at 5cm and that was the golden ticket. My body was ready I had him that night. And now today with my 3rd son at 1.5cm I know nothing will happen.

I got one done at 39 w, 39 w 5 d, now will get one again at 40 w 2 d which is tomorrow, and if that one doesnt work ill get my last at 40 w 5 d. If the last doesnt work, i get induced 3 days after.

Im 4 cm dilated, 80% thinned and between -3 and -2 station

I am getting a sweep done next Tuesday. I will be exactly 39 weeks. I haven’t been checked at this point so I don’t know if it will help. Time will tell ?

Got one done at 38+6 I was 1 cm at 3 PM felt just a bit of cramping. About 5 AM the next morning contractions were about 5 minutes apart. Contractions continued so I went to labor and deliver around 9AM. I was 5 cm displayed and was admitted. Baby was here at 3:16 PM! So for me it was about 24 hours. (This was also my second baby. I’m not sure if that has anything at all to do with my progression after the sweep)

I had one done on Tuesday and nothing happened. I was 1 cm 50 % effaced. Went back a second one yesterday. I was almost 2 cm and about 60% effaced. They said I could try to come back today for another but yesterday’s was very painful. The first one was fine. Now I’m not too sure I even believe in the membrane sweep BS. It barely even caused cramps for me, let alone any contractions.

Got one one Wednesday morning I had some cramping and a yesterday and today had my show but nothing consistent. I'm 39 weeks tomorrow.
