Just had my first appt and the Dr said that zofran is not recommend be it can cause physical deformities. Has your Dr said this to you? I was kinda shocked since they gave it to me last pregnancy

@coletta I am so sorry for your loss. My morning sickness has actually calmed down A LOT and isn't as bad as it used to be. Right now I'm just eating these nasty preggo pops and I may try the b6 with unisom

Has not been definitely proved. They are saying a possible link between zofran and neural tube defects/cleft palate etc these defects are caused in first trimester and can be caused by SO many things, many are introduced to the baby before you even know that you're pregnant. There are links to defects because some women who take zofran get these defects, but as stated many many things cause them and there's no direct proven link to it, just a correlation between some mothers who take it and defects. It will take many more women with defects without other possible cause to show a definite link since they wont do a legit study where they handpick mothers and give the meds to some and not give to their comparable counterparts bc they dont experiment on babies/pregnant women obviously. Some stay away from it bc of the possibility, you have to weigh pros and cons. If nothing else helps you not throw up and you have hg, then the baby needs nutrients, but for regular morning sickness some docs recommend against it bc of the possibility. You just have to do what you think is best and research it to make any decision on it. ❤

Yes. I took it with my son. He's 6 now. I guess they did a lot more studies since I was pregnant with him. I now take Diclegis. FDA approved and totally safe.

Also one girl I knew who took it lost her baby due to heart deformities and another girl's baby had severe cleft palate and lip, there have been lawsuits, I'm honestly shocked anyone takes it or prescribes it anymore...

Yes no providers in my area even offer it. They all say it's too dangerous.

I took it with my daughter. With my son the OB wouldn't prescribe it to me because I wasn't throwing up and they gave me diclesis instead.

Nope I took it with my girl and she end it up being a stillborn due to complications and malformation of the placenta no explanation why. I will never again take anything during pregnancy everyone's body reacts different not worth it for me. Mornning sickness can kick my ass any time it's fine I'll take it.

There is a small risk and If you are one these people who need it than take it. Personally I've had three children and I've taken it frequently with them and if I didn't I would be dead literal. There happy healthy children.

Do your research on zofran. I work in healthcare and would never take zofran while pregnant. I would rather be sick and miserable than risk the possible side affects associated with zofran use during pregnancy

That has come to light not that long ago. When I was pregnant with my 3 year old they prescribed it A LOT. I got some prescribed but took it maybe 3x at most. There have been lawsuits over it now. I'm sure like anything in moderation it is fine.

My doctor just prescribed me diclegis and zofran. I had zofran for my first pregnancy as well. Diclegis wasn't cutting it alone.

I have taken zofran with all 3 of my pregnancies. The studies I think I have involved high doses of zofran. I took b6 and unisom at night with my second but it only helped the morning nausea, not the all day nausea. Do what you are comfortable with.

It has not been proved. You can take dicegleis instead of zofran if you need anything
