Breastfeeding at work
So I come back from pumping and I overhear my coworkers talking about me....I caught the tail end of the conversation but one of the producers was saying she wishes I would talk to her and tell her what I'm doing so she'll know how to plan her show. As long as I get my work done, that's all that matters right? And as long as my boss knows, that should be enough right? Or am I supposed to broadcast it into the whole newsroom? ?

I'm confused....what do you do for work? But no, as long as your work gets done you're fine. But if you're needed on air?....then maybe that's what she meant by changing the show around?

I'm a producer/associate producer at a news station. I help other producers write stories for their shows....all behind the scene. So I'm not needed on air plus I always get my work done. They're just being A holes. They once told one of my anchors that she couldn't pump at work. After she threatened them with the rules, they let up. It's just really toxic here

Sounds awful. Definitely stick up for your rights and involve hr if you need to. I definitely had to when I was pregnant

You don't need to tell anyone...my employees all pretty much know only because I chose to let them know so whrn I have my office door locked they don't wonder what I'm doing but in no way do you have to tell anyone if your boss knows...

I just tell my supervisor if she's not around then I tell another manager just in case.

Yeah about 3 of my managers know so I didn't understand why I had to tell coworkers. It's none of their business in my opinion. They just like getting on my nerves. Plus I'm so ready to leave this job so I think anything they say will get under my skin
