starting solids
My baby is now 4 months, she was born 7 weeks early but the Dr's are very impressed with her progress. Well they told me I could start her on stage 1 foods between 4-6 months (she said I can wait until she's closer to 6 months since she's a preemie)

Yeah they do say start with veggies and limit the fruit b/c of that. But you haven't ruined her..lol. We started with avocado b/c it doesn't have too much of a taste and have moved on from there. My daughter has gummed on an apple but I think that's as sweet as we've gotten so far.

Thank you SCGal. They didn't really give guidelines on what I should give her first. But I bought some sweet potatoes too so she will definitely be getting those next. I'll hold off on the fruits for now

I started my son with fruits... and he still eats vegetables without any problem.

These things are all a matter of preference. My son was 6 weeks early and at his 4 month apt they said that he was ready, and to just go for it, 1 meal a day anything we wanted, but only introduce a new food every 3 days. My son wasn't that interested in foods until 5.5 and we still just do 1 meal a day but sometimes were busy and skip it, trying solids for us is just more fun, then a source of nutrition right now. Do what feels right, you can't ruin them!

Thanks kchitica! She's on sweet potatoes this week. I just love watching her faces and how she's tasting all if these new foods. It's definitely a messy experience tho!

She's doing really good with the sweet potatoes. So far so good. I think next week I'm going to try peas. Let's cross our fingers lol
