Moving States

My husband has an opportunity with his company to move from Indiana to Alabama. We have 5 kids, so we can't just pick up and go. We all want to go, but we own a house here so we would have to sell/rent that before we could move. I have always lived in Indiana so I would like some advice on what to do, think about, look at before we make a final decision. TIA

I second renting until you get a better idea of the area/where you'd like to live.

We moved halfway across the country and we decided to rent for the first year and see what we wanted to do from there. We did lots of research about the different areas, but theres things you won't know til you live there.

Renting for the time being may be a good idea.

I have started checking into the schools, next is to find a house. We'll have to make a trip down to look at some, not sure whether to rent for now or not

Ah, you'll be in northern Alabama. I'm central. You'll have chances of snow, I think. Schools seem to have a good rating.

Do you have an idea of where you will be looking into moving to?

Thanks ladies. I'm really excited about the possibility of moving. I'll look into all your suggestions.

I would look into the different school around where you're wanting to move and how far he's willing to commute (maybe better areas and schools are a little farther?). I live in the panhandle of Florida and I feel it's basically Alabama more the Florida. Anyway! It's hot and humid and no snow (my favorite part.)

Also would probably talk to realtors where you are on how to go about it with the home. You may be better off selling instead of renting.

You're potentially coming to my state? Cool! I don't know what it's like in Indiana, but it can be humid as hell here. I hate that and how hot the spring and summers can be. I suggest start looking into the area you plan to move and the schools (if school age) and looking for potential homes.

need suggestions.... So at work we have a drink thief. Any time we put a drink in the fridge it disappears. I swear I know who it is. So far he's taken drinks from everyone that works in the office, we even put a sign to not take anything you didn't pay for and wrote our names on the drinks. The person I think is taking them works out of the office so we never get to see who is drinking them.

IUI Monday!! So today I went in for my routine bloodwork and ultrasound, and found out that I have three follicles at 17mm! Plus another two at 15mm. When leaving the clinic my FS said to take another dose of gonal-f and come back tomorrow to check to see how big they got and that we would do the iui on Wednesday. Well, after getting home, taking my gonal-f and going out to shovel snow (lol) I get a call saying that I am SURGING!!! I haven't ovulated on my own, or even come close to it in years!!! It was a good thing we picked up a trigger shot before we left too :-)
