It doesn't sink in- like memory foam would. It's just softens up the firm mattress feel. My baby kept kicking her legs in her sleep & waking herself up because she would kick the mattress & the hallow thump sound would wake her up.

When you touch it, does your hand sink in? I know it reads extra plush but a baby's mattress should be firm to reduce risk of SIDS
