Only one without an ultrasound?!

My dr is that way too. He olny ordered me one because I asaid I wasn't sure of my dates. I go monday but he wasn't happy about it as if he has to pay for it.

Im high risk thats why ive had ultrasounds. Other than that I only had one my last pregnacy until I had my 20 week ultrasound.

Some free women's clinic will give you one at no cost.

Nope! They did that with my first. This time they'll do a quick one at 10 weeks just to grab some measurements and check placement, I guess. Not sure why, but I'm okay with it.

I'm seeing a midwife and they don't do them until 18-20 weeks. So, I'm with you!!

The only reason I got one when I went to my appointment on Wednesday is because they weren't able to hear the heartbeat with the doppler. Otherwise, with my first, I only had one ultrasound done when I was 22 weeks.

That's odd. I got my first at 8 weeks then until I hit 6 months I get on every four weeks than I get one every two weeks after that... But I've seen a lot of people on her saying they only get about two. I would go nuts!

I haven't even been to the dr yet. They didn't want to see me until the 19. That's after I am 9 weeks. I did tell them that I have been irregular and not sure of it. So we will see then what my next step is.

I'm getting a gender scan sometime between 15 and 20 weeks that's it. There are a lot of women who were perfect before an early ultrasound and then miscarried. I'm not taking the risk without reason. Everything abnormal, low growth, heartbeat, plecental previa, twins, etc has warning signs. No warning signs, no ultrasound.

I am using a midwife and she only recommends one ultrasound at 19 or 20 weeks.

My first appt is Monday afternoon. I will be requesting one if it's not provided. I was high risk last pregnancy so I want to make sure everything is okay this time around. According to my lmp I should be roughly 8 wks at my appt.

My first will be sometime in December probably, maybe January.

I got an early one because I previously miscarried and I wasn't exactly sure on my lmp like I knew the month but I told either this day or that.Maybe you should've told them you weren't sure in your exact lmp and you would've gotten an early ultrasound ;)..I am also getting an intergrated prenatal so I can keep track on my baby since I'm so tramatized from my mc

My early ones were down to 3 previous miscarriages. Had surgery on my abnormally shaped womb in July and all fixed now and at 9w5d :-)

Are you not getting the "integrated prenatal testing" done? It checks for birth defects by ultrasound and bloodwork and has to be done at certain times in your pregnancy. First scan is between 10-12 weeks...

My first ultrasound is scheduled for November 28th at exactly 12 weeks.

That's crazy! I would go to a diff dr.

I'm in the same boat. No ultrasound till 20 weeks.I just wanna see the little peanut I'm at 9weeks now so it feels like a long wait.

I will not have an ultrasound until 12 weeks. My doc has advised it causes undo stress on baby! I googled side effects of ultrasounds and indeed docs not crazy!!

I only got them because I am higher risk and had some spotting early on.

I've had complications this time and mc before so I get watched pretty close also I live in Canada and it seems easier to get one here.
