$ rate babysitter

Hi, our 17yo neighbour (who we have known for 2+ years) is about to start babysitting for our 2yo. Would be mostly evenings, 1-2 hours of dd being awake & putting to bed then 1-2 hours of watching tv / studying etc.

Some people charging $20 a hour is fine.

I have y Cert 3 in child care half my diploma.

First aid along with 9 years experience and so on... I'm charging $20 a hour for 2 kids I started at $10 a hour when I was 12 and now with all my education and what I've learned paying $20 a hour for someone who is worth it and you no ur child will be safe and in good hands with isn't much to pay.. Peace if mind after all.

Again depends on age and qualifications and how many children you have.

I pay our babysitter $20 an hour, she is a qualified early learning educator, has senior first aid, police clearance and crimtrak card. I have 4 kids aged 7,5,4 and 2, we only use her for the occasional night out, she comes and does tea with the kids, does craft activity with them, gets their teeth brushed and puts them to bed, then tidies the house, cleans kitchen and will usually sweep floors and fold washing. I wish I could keep her full time she is a God send!!

For a teenager looking after 1 child I'd prob pay between $10-15 an hour depending on your sons needs, if he's still in nappies and doesn't settle well then I'd pay the extra but I wouldn't be paying someone $15 an hour to sit and watch TV once child is down.

My babysitter is $20 an hour but her flat rate is $120 so if im longer than 6 hours i dont have to pay anymore. It works out good if i have hospital appointments and other errands during the day.

I needed a babysitter and they wanted $20 an hour that would have been $180 for the night.my son goes to bed at 7:30 and they'll be costing me money by watching my tv screw that bloody rip off IMO

Gee, I wouldn't actually pay that much. She'd get $15 (if she's lucky) an hr workin her but off at maccas not watching tv, face booking or studying. Prob $30-$50 max a night. 6-11 pm or something like that. ?
