I had never heard of adventure world - looked it up, thanks! Dd might be a bit young to do much so we might leave that this time (even though she is free, hubby and I aren't & wouldn't be able to go on any rides together!).

I'd recommend penguin island! It's a five min ferry trip off a beach in rockingham I think it's about $15 for a return adult ticket and kids are cheaper than that. In my opinion it's better than rottnest as its not as commercialized so not as busy or expensive. There's penguins on and around the island as well as lovely beach areas. They have an observary where they feed some sea lions every few hours and guests can watch, there's great snorkeling around the island as well.

Yeah ash, we haven't been in ages and took 5yo Kai there last wkend, after his 1st water slide he said " this is the best daddy!!"

I live near freo, u could get the ferry from there to rotto. IMO rotto isn't as good as it use to be, but that could be cause j got bored of it (I used to work there so was there 6 days a week).

Aqwa or the zoo are good :) I've heard caversham wildlife park is good too, but I haven't been

There's a few good play centres too :) but for a free outdoor playground I recommend kings park :)

There's usually things happening on the foreshore for the fireworks during the day.

Hyde park in Highgate/ North Perth also has some water fountain things for kids to play in.

Yes we fly in Australia Day - first ever flight for bub plus time difference = who knows whether we will get to the fireworks, but maybe!

If you're there on Australia Day you are in prime location for the big Perth fireworks. It can get pretty busy down there by the river!

Bub is very much mobile - she is running around & climbing like a little monkey - also loves water. Do you know if the water play area in the city will still be there at end of January?

Staying in an apartment in east Perth on the free bus circuit, for quick trips, but will have hire car also for day trips etc

Swan Valley wine region is good for a day trip though....

Aqwa is quite good with it touch pool. Margaret river wine religion is a little far to go for a day IMO. But rottnest & hillaries boat Harbour are great :)

Hillary's boat Harbour - has a kiddie beach, a playground on the sand and lots of restaurants and shops.

Is he mobile? There's a playground suitable for toddlers in Kingspark. Us locals know it as Stickybeaks.

Rotto is expensive to get to but lovely.

At the moment in the city there is a kid water play area (in Forrest Place next to Myer).

There's a nice playground and plenty of water birds at Lake Monger in Leederville. There's also a new playground in Yokine reserve that's meant to be good.

Oh - when you go to Freo there's a playground area on the Esplanade (near the big wheel) that is awesome for toddlers!

Zoo, AQWA, beaches - Scarborough/Cottesloe/Trigg/Mullaloo, all places with cafes/picnic spots. Where are you staying?
