Brie and cured meats

Would you eat either of those whilst being pregnant? It says on NHS if the Brie is cooked it's fine and if you freeze cured meat first it's fine! I just love both especially this time of year!

I cook the cheese and fry the meat! But I also just had a sneaky little baileys so maybe I'm not the best role model!! ??

I didn't know cheese could make you ill ? I don't like brie but I've eaten dairylea dunks quite a lot! The way i see it is that you're eating what your body is used to and you'll probably stress yourself out more fussing over food than just eating.xx

I've had Brie a few times and baked a Camembert the other day. I think I have quite. Strong stomach though, cheese has never made me ill before.

Yes I ate some of both when pregnant. I bought pasteurised Brie though...the risk with these foods is food poisoning (Listeria) so having pasteurised cheese lowers the risk. I also ate prawns but only at home, when I knew they were in date, freshly cooked etc.

I've read that the risk of food poisoning is higher with other stuff (eg unwashed salads in restaurants, rice etc) and so I was more diligent when eating out!! I accidentally ate goats cheese before I realised you shouldn't ? the advice does seen different in different countries (French friends say the cheese rules are definitely more relaxed there....!)

Personally no, because I'd just worry afterwards (probably unnecessarily) Some women have caffeine and alcohol when pregnant but I never did. I was probably a bit extreme in hindsight! Will most probably be more relaxed if I have another baby!

Yes the Brie is fine if cooked, as that will kill off any bacteria!

Yeah I've just had a Brie and bacon baguette without thinking! I don't know, I don't eat loads of it so I think I'll be fine! I just love a cheese and biscuits at Christmas ?

I personally don't like either of them but I was saying to my midwife how gutted I am that I cannot have my traditional starter of prawn cocktail on Xmas day and she said look do you think French women stop eating brie and other soft cheeses when they are pregnant.. she told me it wouldn't harm me as long as I do it properly so I'm guessing small doses of what you want won't harm you but if your worried just ask your midwife x
