Words?
My 10 month old doesn't say any words, she babbles a lot, lots of bababa's etc! I talk to her all the time and encourage her but she just isn't interested! What age do they normally say words? Should I be concerned or not?! X

It's hard not to compare. My son was early with everything and talking quite alot by 1 but his play friend who was born same week took much longer. Her mum kept comparing and worrying but by 2 her daughter had caught up with my son so there was no need to worry those first years as they develop at different speeds.

Thanks ladies! I just find myself comparing her to other babies her age - which I know I shouldn't do!

I really wouldn't worry until they are closer to two. My son is 17 months and hardly says anything, they will get there in their own time ?

No not at all, my 16 month old only says mum, da, no and bum, that's only when I ask him to say it he doesn't actually call me mum yet. My eldest son didn't start talking until he was 2 and he is 4 now and doesn't stop talking x

No way don't be worried! She will start to say things around 1 but even then it may or may not be a 'word' to you but you will know what she's trying to say. My boy is 16m and his speech has only just started to pick up.
