Breakfast

So primrose hates baby porridge! But she loves fruit and veg purée, can I give her fruit purée for breakfast instead? Or is there anything that can be recommended? X

Yeah I very rarely give him breakfast he has his bottle when he wakes up then at about 10.30 I give him yogurt or fruit pouch smoothie! Are you a breakfast person? Because I know that I'm not too! Xxx

DD wouldn't eat bland stuff either. I used to blend oats in the food processor until they were the right consistency and store in a tub (tesco do a big bag of organic oats for like £1.20 and it's a fraction of the cost of baby stuff) then stew or steam fruit and purée to mix with the ground oats. The great thing about steaming is you can keep the fruit water as nutrient rich drink too as all the water soluble vitamins end up in it x

Fruit puree is good. You can aways try to add small amount of porridge so it's a bit more substantial but still tastes fruity enough for her to eat.

If she's over 6 months she can have weetabix/ oatibix, normal porridge oats, toast, scrambled egg etc.

If she's under 6 months you need to avoid gluten and dairy so no yogurts either x

You could try some weetabix with the fruit mixed in?

Fruit is fine.. Maybe add in yogurt if you want to give her some variety and still get dairy into her X

I'm starting to want to give Florence her meals (purées etc) separate from bottle does anyone else do this? E.g. 6.30am bottle then porridge and fruit purée about 8ish, then her 10.30/11 bottle then her veg purée lunch at 12 say? Then 2.30/3pm bottle and her veg purée and fruit purée after for her tea at around 4pm? She's 19 weeks tomoz and still needs me to hold her bottle but I can sit her in her high chair for her food you see. Any thoughts?
