Just to clarify: if you pump when you have alcohol present in your milk and save it, it will NOT be alcohol free when you give it to baby. Alcohol only works itself out if it's in your body, not outside. Am I correct here pp?

No. Just pump enough to test. If positive wait and test again later. Only pump and dump if you get engorged, become too uncomfortable, and must pump for relief while still testing positive. You should test neg after 2 hours per average size drink.

I use these strips as well. but i dump if alcohol is present. are you all saying i can pump and just store it anyways and the alcohol works itself out? bc alcohol is excreted from our bodies via sweat and urine so i don't see how the milk could still be good?

Don't dump!!!! Alcohol works it's way out of your milk like it does out if your blood. I think it takes approximately 2 hours per drink. You can buy test strips online if you want to be 100% sure your milk is alcohol free.

According to what other ladies have posted you can by the strips several places. They suggest using milkscreen.com to find a retailer near you. They also said you could buy them at Target and Babies R Us.
