Getting married because of baby
Is there anyone that feels you have to get married to your boyfriend now that you're pregnant? Or are your parents forcing you? Me and my boyfriend havent really spoken about it but I don't think that just because you're having a baby together you HAVE to be married. A baby can either make or break a relationship so I'd rather wait it out and see how everything plays out. What are your opinions? We already live together btw
Im in the same situation I'm only 19 and now that I'm pregnant both my parents and my boyfriends parents want us to get married, they say were practically like married anyway since we live together. but Im really not ready to get married yet, I want to get married when we both feel the time is right NOT when are parents are making/ wanting us too.
No I don't think a baby constitutes having to get married. See how the baby thing goes and then tie the knot if you want unless you were already planning to get married. My husband and I had been engaged and living together for four years before I got pregnant but since we had ready been planning on wedding it came easy to us plus it had the added benefits of great medical insurance. It shouldn't be something stressed or forced or else it won't work.
I don't think a baby makes or breaks a relationship I think it just brings out the flaws to the front because you have to work together and communicate. If the relationship wasn't gun work with or without a baby eventually it would come out I think a baby just magnifies that. If there was a plan to be married eventually before the baby came I would say do it bcuz you were planning in it anyway but if there was no thought to b married then the baby comes THeN you start talkin bout marriage I wouldn't do it lol
Getting married because you're pregnant is a bad idea. I've been married 2 years now, we were married right out of high school, but that's because we fell in love and wanted to marry. Even though I'm a Catholic I don't think getting married because of a pregnancy is a good idea. My sisters both did it and they're both divorced now.
I proposed to my husband on the night we conceived. We were planning on waiting two years but found out we were expecting two weeks later so we moved the wedding up. I think getting married JUST because of a pregnancy however, is a huge mistake! It rarely ends well, especially if you are young because you have a lot of changing to go through.
my husband and i (before we were married) had a son and i.was 18 our parents and everyone made it seem like we had to get married so we got engaged. we dated for 3 years before we got pregnant. we were going to get married 4 months after our son.was born but i felt so rushed with everything.that i called it off. i was only 18! we broke up for a year and got back together! realized that's what we really wanted! we now have two boys and another baby due in.April! don't get married just because u got pregnant! planned on marring my husband before we ever got pg but felt too rushed! good luck!
My bf and I have been together for almost 6 years and honestly I have no desire to get married. We have talked about it and he has even asked if I want a ring, but to be honest with you I just want our strong relationship to continue thriving. I come from a divorce family and so does he so I just feel that we don't need a piece of paper to express how much we love and care for one another. In my opinion I don't believe anyone should feel forced or obligated to get married. That is not setting up a strong foundation for the rest of your lives together. Right now we are focused on raising our little girl and building a strong, loving family.
My bf and I already planned on getting engaged before I found out I was pregnant, but now I told him, if he doesn't get me a ring and make it official before our baby comes, then it will have my last name on the birth certificate. If he isn't going to make some sort of commitment then I don't think I should give our baby his name. He said he will get something by November after he looks around and saves up some extra money, let's hope it happens :] I love him so much, if he doesn't propose soon I will ask him lol, but in all seriousness I wanted to marry him long before I got pregnant, I think we make a great couple and I want us to be a family
No, I don't think that couples need to get married because of a baby. In fact, its a terrible reason to get married. A baby doesn't always mean a relationship will work out.
My fiance and I were dating for a year before I got pregnant, and were friends for I don't know how long before that, and we got engaged a week before I got pregnant lol
Originally, the wedding was set for August 12th, but that went out the window when we found out I am pregnant. We're planning for next year. Maybe 10-11-12 to be funny :]
Yea I understand all of you. We've been together for 3 years and of course I'd like to marry him someday but I dnt think having a child means I have to marry him right away. We've spoken about it before as I'm sure alot of couples have but we've never actually sat down and seriously said we have to get married now for the baby. I would much rather have a long engagement and test the waters after the baby comes. I don't think we would break up but you never know and I'll be 21 in 2 weeks. I don't wanna make a mistake and end up being married and divorced before I hit 23. But that's just me.
Im 23 and my fiancee and I have been engaged for 1.5 years, together for 5 years. I will be 18 weeks tomorrow. We have had our wedding date set in stone as being Sept 29, 2012 and we are not changing it just because I got pregnant. My parents asked me if we were but they agree and accecpt our decision to go ahead as planned. If u are not engaged and are just going to get married because your pregnant, make sure he is the one and you love him. I had a very close friend get married as soon as she found out, needless to say, baby is now almost two and they have been divorced for around 1 year now and it was a bad nasty divorce.
we new we would marry way before pregnancy but I do wish I came the other way. we decided to get engaged n hav a long 2/3 yr engagement. 1 so we can afford the wedding of my dreams n 2 were just not in a rush. the engagement was a better step to me then a binding marriage (although I dont think we will b breaking up.)
our parents havent said anything about us getting married but my sister and his sil have asked me. I find it to be rude bc I believe that u dont need to get marry when you start a family. We been together for almost 6yrs and we r doing mighty fine. :) I would like to get married someday though.

Hey ladies I have a question. if you're not married or engaged already would you be upset😲😒 if your boyfriend propose to you with an engagement ring that wasn't really expensive like these? Or would you be excited 🤗
How long have you and your husband or boyfriend been together?!
Baby look, we all get depressed at some point and time. But for ALL of your post to be about your boyfriend not doing his part is annoying!
1) Why is he still your boyfriend?
2) If you feel he doesn't care you or y'all baby, WHY IS HE STILL YOUR BOYFRIEND!?
3) If y'all were having problems before baby, WHY IS HE STILL YOUR BOYFRIEND!?
All boyfriends, baby daddies, husbands, anyone you're in a relationship with will get on your LAST nerves. You'll want to choke them most of the time. But h...
