Has anyone used reusable breast pads in the past ? I never did with my son and I had bad cracked bleeding nipples with him so the disposable ones stuck to me an made it worse, so I'm in the process of making some of my own. Those that have used them how many sets did you use a day im thinking 6 pair might be enough or should I make more

Definetly use PUL on every one otherwise they'll leak through, especially in the first few months when let down is strong. Those layers are good and I did the same PUL, cotton, flannel. I made ones with just one cotton layer in the middle but definetly prefer the one with 2 layers. I made mine with a 4 inch diameter

@tundrak when you made yours how many layers did you use? I have one pul the 2x cotton bamboo and 1x flannel do you then they will be ok iv never made them before or used them, but i hated the disposables with my son, I have 5 sets made so far im going to do some without the pul (waterproof nappy fabric) an double up the flannel see which work better

I used reusable ones that I made last time and it worked great, I would make more than 6 pair though. I would say double that. I would use many in a day because you don't want the wet ones to sit on your skin too long, it can promote thrush.

I hated disposable ones, they felt like diapers in my shirt! So I’ve used the cotton reusable pads for 2 babies now. I probably have 10 pairs, & that worked out for me since I did laundry every day/other day. If you’re making them all I would suggest to make a few thicker ones for night time!!

With my first 2 kids I used the disposable ones & hated them! I could never get them to feel comfortable. With my third I used reusable ones & loved them! I had about a dozen. It seemed like a lot, but I wasn't sure how many I would need. A dozen was super helpful though when my baby was going through growth spurts & my milk supply was adjusting. I would recommend a dozen, but that's just me. I'm having twins this time, so idk what to expect from my supply, but I have my same dozen. Oh, & yours are super cute!

I wasn’t a big fan... but I was a big leaker. I went through a tonne... and found that sometimes I couldn’t get the milk smell out of them.

Those are so cute!!

I tried a couple random reusable pads with my second. I didn't love them. Then, with my third, I discovered bamboobies reusable pads! Best purchase ever!! They were so much more comfy! However, I felt like reusables did need changed more than the disposables no matter the brand. Even the overnight ones. I made do with about 6 with my third but I'm getting more for this one!!

I buy mine from walmart. 6 was never enough even with me washing every other day. I produce a lot of milk and would soak through after a few hours. I went through about 6 pair per day.

In making my own this time too!! And I totally agree. The disposable ones are crap and get stuck to me :( and I would think 6 pairs should be an alright number to have.

I haven't tried them but I have some to try this time. I did feel like the disposable ones were very cheap and didn't absorb a whole lot. Good luck this time around!

So I have a question 😁 when you made baby cereal for a breastfed baby did you use formula to make it or just breastmilk and if so with the formula how did they take it?

@jessiebear21 yeah you add the breastmilk to make the food smooth just add as much as you
jessiebear21 @tyrellp, awesome! Thank you! 😁
