really upset

So I had my weekly appointment with the same batch who made me feel horrible about my weight and said if we're to gain more, I'll have a c-section. Well she didnt bring up weight today. She did the cervix check, was rude the whole time, and made me feel like poo. She said if I couldn't take getting my cervix checked, I'll need an epidural. Well for one, you made me bleed and two, you were really rough. She told me I'd be spotting today. I even said before, I never wanted her again but they scheduled me with her without telling me.

My dr with my first dd stripped my membranes without asking too. It did NOT cause me to go into labor though

And with my second pregnancy I got a new dr and refused checks. I'm sorry you feel violated ;( I know how it feels

Call a lawyer as ask. I would think performing amy medical procedure without consent is illegal.

One word. Lawyer. What she did was illegal

Omg no!!! That is so scary. I would keep calling the clinic or hospital complaint manager and ask for updates and make sure she gets in trouble and it isn't just swept under the rug. She needs to be fired!!!!

Just try to rest and stay calm! Hope you can keep baby in longer

When she walked in, you should've left. ?? I'm sorry she's been such a b**** to you. I probably would tried changing practices. Hope all is well otherwise.

I'm sorry she did that to you. I hope he stays in a bit longer. I will say I had mine stripped three times with cramping and spotting and still had to be induced at 42 weeks. They only work if baby is ready.

She had no right to do that to you.. She needs to be reported. The sweeps only work when both your body and baby are ready for labor.. Soo that being said if your baby or your body are not ready it wont work. My mom didnt want to be induced doctors tried 3 sweeps but nothing happend until 43 weeks and a few day.. (yes i know 43 weeks is alot she was due apr 16 and had my brother until may 9 soo yeah) and went into labor on her own. Lol

I would start talking to a lawyer and get them to start up a lawsuit for malpractice. I'm so sorry that happened to you hun. I hope everything turns itself around for you hun. ❤️

As a medical professional I'm 100% against membrane stripping. It's unnecessary. In medical school we were advised against them! Good news is it does NOT guarantee you will go into labor and some exams can just be rough and doesn't mean she stripped your membranes.

I would try to speak with someone higher up than the nurse. I'm a nurse and when people call complaining about one of my Doctors I can't really do much, and also the next appointment you make you need to clarify that you no longer want to see that doctor and explain why!

So sorry that she didn't explain anything to you!!! That's crazy my OBGYN made me sign a consent form when she was just checking me for a yeast infection. So your doctor is definitely making huge mistakes!!!!

I'm glad you reported her! That's NOT ok. Try to relax, baby will still come when he is ready. I'm so sorry you had to experience that.

@awesome. It's irregular but i do feel contractions. I've been in and out sleep since i got home around 12 . The on call nurse reported her for me. She put in two reports for her being disrespectful and stripping me without consent and another one from her for not letting her nor my actual doctor knowing so the nurse could have been there to explain it to me and asked if i wanted it. She's kinda new to being an OB doctor but doesn't give her the right to do something like that.

PLEASE call and report that. She did something unnecessary to your body without your consent! They did that to me with my first and well and I felt the office crying because I was in so much pain. I didn't realize it until months later that my OB had stripped my membranes

I got a check not too long ago and it didn't hurt at all. No bleeding or anything. But I'm sorry you had to go thru that!

It depends on who does the cervical check, I started contractions when I was 35 weeks and went to the ER & that doc was awful rough and I bled bad. I was a fingertip dialated and closed back up within a week and was fine til my water broke at 38+6. It's normal to bleed some after a cervical check. Sorry OP, you shouldn't have a had to deal with all that.

Eta: are you contracting at all?

My doctor that I normally get doesn't hurt, just pressure. But she wiggled around, and stripped me. That was very uncomfortable and I can barely sit I can only lay down.

I am always curious about this question...

Do cervical checks hurt everyone?

Mine never bothered me, even while in labor. I know I have a high pain tolerance but I'm genuinely curious.

I totally think this happens way more than people realize. They just don't tell you they are doing it! They probably don't even document it every time. Doctors have their own agenda sometimes.

I really hope that woman loses her job. That was a complete violation. Not to mention 38 weeks is not full term.

Ugh.. I am SO sorry! This is exactly why I will be refusing cervical checks. That's just NOT right. If you do go into labor soon, I hope everything goes well and you deliver a healthy baby. ❤❤

Thank you ladies. I have reported her in the office earlier, and I'll be reporting again when DF gets home. I had my dad drop me off at DFs due to our air conditioner being wacky lately, it needs to be recharged. He didn't want me getting overheated. I'm more upset about my sister not being here. But if he can wait a bit longer, I'll be happy. If he can't, it's fine.

You need to report that batch!

Try not to worry too much. Getting a membrain sweep doesn't mean you'll start labor. I had mine done twice and nothing happened either time. I've heard it only works if the baby is ready

Ugh I'm so sorry. It's not okay to do anything to anyone without permission. You and your child were essentially violated. She needs to be reported. When you go into labor don't let her deliver the baby. You tell them you won't have her do it. She's not able to be trusted. You need to trust the person bringing your baby into the world. You need to know that they'll listen to you and keep you informed on everything hat is going on. I'm praying for you , sweetheart.

I'm so sorry about all that happening. You need to report that Doctor to the office.. They explicitly did it without telling you and without your permission. It's your body and you are your only advocate! I hope your labor holds off and that things get better for you!

Well there's no guarantee you'll have him this weekend, my membranes were stripped and I bled a bit for about 2 days then nothing. I had to be induced. Not saying she was right to do that AT ALL, but maybe labor will hold off a bit longer.
