Kinda bummed

So today I wanted to make my nanny's chocolate pudding pie or at least one of her cheesecakes, she passed away when I was 6. When I bake I feel like she's there and I feel close to her. But I can't have a lot of sugar because my doctor said I can't take in a lot of sugar since I already gained 20 pounds, and if I gain more than 10-15 pounds, I'll have to get a c section but im pushing for a vaginal. But I guess I'll wait til Monday on my birthday to make myself a cherry cheesecake or bake a pie. Just a little bummed. I know it's kinda petty but it just sucks because that was my Nan's hobby and I enjoy baking. I don't have to eat it but I was planning on eating what I wanted to bake ??. I guess the struggle is real lol.

I was 98 prepregnancy and right before birth I was 146. My mom gained 60 lbs with my brother so that's ridiculous that he would say that. My son was born at 38 weeks weighing 6.8lbs. He was vaginally also.

She said vbac. I'm confused too. I have a new doctor I made that clear to the receptionist. I was told vbac and that's where I knew something was off. I was just saying what she told me. Sorry ladies I fell asleep last night, wasn't feeling too good. But I'm going to talk to my new doctor when I see him about my weight gain and needing a c section. He knows a lot more than my original doctor.

Make you're chocolate pie and enjoy a small slice ??

Lol why would you have to have a c sectional automatically if you gain more weight...unless you're an 800 pound woman, that's completely ridiculous

I just read the comments and none of that is correct! ?

Please get a new doctor, none of what you've said makes sense.

I've never heard anything so ridiculous, I've got tiny friends- under 5ft tall, 90lbs and some of them have had big babies! 9lbs, 10lbs etc, just because someone is petite doesn't mean they should have a small baby, I wonder why your doctor thinks that? It's common knowledge really.. Why do doctors there seem so keen for people to have c sections?? I'm all for healthy eating during pregnancy but honestly I'd be worried having a doctor who seemed so misinformed, make your cake and enjoy it!!!

Your doctor sounds like a nutcase. When I'm not pregnant I'm only 5'1" and 95 lbs. gained 40 with my first and he was a 7 lb 7 oz baby. With my second I gained only 25 lbs and she was still a 7 lb baby. Both were vaginal births. Your size does not determine your baby's size or your ability to have a vaginal birth in any way whatsoever.

And of course, the other ladies already explained why Vbac makes no sense when you're on your first child.

Your doctor sounds like an idiot. Unless you're leaving things out then her reasonings are ridiculous.

Wonder if she got her practicing licence out of a coco pops packet

That is strange for your dr to be talking about vbac when this is your first child? I would be checking if she had the right patient

Your Dr sounds, well... wrong. I'm 5'3" and pre pregnancy I usually weighed between 105-110 and gained somewhere around 50 pounds or so with all 8 of my pregnancies. My biggest two were 9 pounds and my smallest was 4lbs 9.5oz but she was a premie. My smallest full term was 6 pounds. So just because you gain more than 20 pounds doesn't mean you'll necessarily have a big baby. If you don't have gestational diabetes, have your pie girl.

You need to see another doctor. I read your other post too and she sounds insane.

Was your doctor reading the wrong paper? You said this is your first, but your doctor said if you gain a lot of weight you can't attempt a vbac? A vbac is a vaginal deliver after a c section, if you've never had a c section then you aren't having a vbac. I gained WAY more than 20lbs and delivered my twins vaginally with no problems.

This is my first and thank you ladies.

I'm 4'11 and 3 quarters and my pre-pregnancy weight was 103-106 lbs and I'm 126 lbs now. I'm 26w4d. It just boggles my mind. She says to walk 30 minutes a day. But lately I've been up and cleaning for hours on end everyday (I have OCD and my hobbies are cleaning and baking lol), so I'm always up and moving. I mean school is 30 minutes away by walking so I did walk home Friday. She told me not eat a lot of apples, pineapple, etc. just eat the berries and fruits that have more water in them like watermelon, cantaloupe, etc. I just felt bummed and I felt like I was a failure because she said that. I do eat healthy. I don't eat a lot of fast food, sometimes I'll have a slice or two of pizza or go get some nuggets from McDonald's but that's very rare.

I am 23 weeks and gained 30 lbs already yikes but have no concerns for birth. I have never had a c section before so don't know how that would effect anything

I would get a second opinion

Find a new dr op.

And have some pie or cheesecake and take a walk and you will be fine

Is this your first child op?

What she said doesn't make sense to me. I don't have GB and I haven't been called for results yet but they'd call asap if I did.

She said that if I gain more weight, he'll be too big for a vbac. I'm 26w4d. She said for my body mass and my height, I should have a 6lb baby.

I gained 48 lbs with my pregnancy and I had a vaginal birth, doesn't make sense what the dr told you, if it were because you have gestational diabetes, but I think that's not your case

Religion Conspiracy/Theory

**This is not to bash peoples religion and beliefs but to talk about our own theories and ideas** I would like to discuss a certain topic that came to mind after talking to my SO. I know some of you ladies like a good conspiracy talk so i would like to have a good discussion and hear thoughts of others. So back story my SO friends got very offended when he mentioned not believing in god or religion and it got me thinking. Is religion a failing form of goverment cont...
