SOs room mate

So my SO made tea last night, and it was a whole pitcher. His room mate came home from work around 3-4 o clock AM. He drank the whole pitcher to himself. And I normally like to have tea in the morning when SO leaves for work at 5 AM, I've been at his apartment for a week and a day, cleaning SOs fridge out because his room mate spilt tea and didn't clean it up when asked to do so four times, so I decided to take 2 and a half hours to scrub out his whole fridge because it was sticky and EVERYWHERE in the fridge this was two days ago. I've been doing the dishes, hand washed and dish washed because his room mate can't stick to one dish and clean it out. Mind you this is my SOs apartment. It's just I clean so when SO comes home, he can relax from work and take a nap instead of cleaning up all day because his room mate is a slob. His room mate doesn't understand how to use an inside voice so he wakes me up constantly when he gets home from work. Two days ago, same day as the spilt tea incident, he came home at 5 AM and I shat you not he yelled, guess what I found during my ride home today! And my SO said "shh she's sleeping, she didn't go to bed til 230 AM." And he just kept being loud all morning so I got up out of bed and started my day out by cleaning out a fridge, going out to go to wal mart with my father, and doing dishes, took an hour nap, and cooked some dinner. It's just his room mate is an a-hole and doesn't know respect. I'm sorry if my rant is everywhere it just bothers me. All i really wanted was some nice cold tea while I made some pancakes and made SO a burger and Mac and cheese for when he comes home for his lunch break. Oh and his room mate ate my last piece of pizza that I bought last Friday for SO and I. I saved it so I can have pizza for breakfast Friday (don't judge me I don't eat a lot junk food I swear). So I was really upset about that. I don't eat a lot of certain foods due to my pregnancy changed my appetite, and he knew that I only really eat veggies, fruits, and I don't eat meat much. SO even told him the pizza was mine in the fridge and I only has one slice left and yet he still eats it ugh. I'm sorry I'm just upset.

That roommates annoying, he needs to go.

But as for the cleaning even when roommate leaves, you still get to have the pleasure of cleaning lol. So don't think just cuz you get rid of roommate don't mean the cleaning goes away too. That comes with cohabiting lol

@silly I'm only here for the whole week because it was spring break and SO wanted to spend more time with me instead of me coming over on the weekends only.

If it's only for a couple months then just bide your time. The bottom line is that you don't live there. Let them deal with any issues that arise themselves. If you don't like it then don't sleep, eat or shower there. Just go over when your boyfriend is home and visit.

@mama I don't live there, but since I do eat, sleep, and bathe there, I like to help out as much as I can when I sleep over even if I use my own money. But we're saving up for the new place so I can move in.

So do you live there or not.

In your post you don't live there. In a reply you basically live there. In another reply you don't live there.

You should establish if you do or don't live there first.

Legally you nor the room mate should be there.

Why not get a job and delete the roommate from the equation.

You can work an evening position.

I get the rant.. but truthfully it can be avoided. Stay in your own place.. or get rid of the roommate and move in... Officially.

@PP I won't be moving in with SO until we get a bigger place with 3 bedrooms, which will be in a few months. My dad understands this and will let me and the baby stay with him until the lease is up with the apartment and we get into the new one. That's why I won't be living with SO until then.

Your SO needs to stop asking you to ask him. Since you're technically not living there He needs to be the one to talk to him. It's obvious he's not listening to you. I'm assuming he's paying rent and helping with the Bill's. So he may feel he doesn't need the girlfriend bossing him around. That I can understand. Why did your SO let a roommate in if you guys have a baby on the way? You say it's only a one bed. Once the baby comes there's no way you can all live there. Its also a law. Only 3 people can legally live in a one-bedroom.

@king, due to going to school from 730AM-2PM and having to do an after school class so I can graduate early from 2PM-4PM, it's hard to do so with all that. But my great aunt cass can't really do much so i help her around the house, help her with her garden, vacuum her house for her, and let the dog out, and she pays me 100-200 a week or so. But since she's got a nasty cold she doesn't want me near her and to get me sick. So I haven't been able to do work for almost 2 weeks for her. And I do help SO and his room mate out with groceries (50 dollars) for the apartment, buy dish soap and dishwasher detergent, and take their clothes to my house to wash instead of them wasting money at the laundromat.

I didn't tell him to clean the fridge, SO asked him to clean the fridge before he left for work and he said he would but he didn't. SO asked me if the room mate cleaned the fridge like he was asked and I said no. SO told me to ask him again. SO talked to his room mate and confronted him about what he's doing.

SOs room mate recently moved in. He isn't on the lease and I'm cooking and cleaning because I've had OCD moments and my SO has been training people so he leaves work around 2-3 PM and then goes back in at 630 PM to train so I cook dinner and get everything cleaned up and my SO even said its also my apartment too, living there or not. I basically live here. SO is the signer of the lease. I understand what you ladies are saying, it's just boggles me how can someone be too lazy to even put his dirty dishes in the sink. SO doesn't even like the way his room mate is living. But he's great friends with the guy and doesn't want to ruin their friendship. I'm not saying he's a bad guy either. He's just a slob. SO and I cleaned the kitchen top to bottom, spills tea in the fridge while SO and I are sleeping, doesn't clean it up and so I had to clean out the fridge since SO can't bend his legs down due to a work accident at his old job resulting 3 toes being amputated. I just really want to let SO relax after he gets home because he's on his feet all day for 10+ hours.

You told him to clean the fridge? It's his home that he's paying rent on and where he's paying bills though. You're a guest there. I do agree he shouldn't have ate your food.

Нравится Ответить

Is it possible for you to work, so you can help out and take the roommate out of the equation?

Нравится Ответить

If you aren't paying rent, you are a guest in your SO's and his roommate's apartment. It's not up to you to keep the place clean, and the roommate is not obligated to change his lifestyle to suit you.

If your SO has a problem with how his roommate lives, then he can move out. But it kinda sounds like the two guys were doing just fine and you are the naggy girlfriend who tells the roommate he needs to clean his own fridge. If I were him I wouldn't be too fond of that.

Sorry if that sounds harsh, but that's the truth. It would be completely different if this were you and SO's apartment and the roommate was crashing there for free.

He's the room mate and your just visiting.

You honestly have no say if your not paying any bills.

OAN... Why isn't your SO standing up for these issues you have stated. Is it just you it bothers?

Нравится Ответить

If he's your so's roommate then it's just as much his place as your so's your just the girlfriend that stays over. Don't like it don't stay there. Remember he lives there not you so your in his place just as much as your so

Oh no...the pizza would have done it for me! Nobody takes my last slice of pizza i was looking forward to. That's just evil lol xx

Нравится Ответить

You don't live there or pay rent? So you're just the girlfriend who's always there? Maybe he's intentionally being annoying.

Нравится Ответить

He can't be that great of a friend if he expects a pregnant woman to pick up after him or comes in in the middle of the night shouting his head off? My bfs friend are loud and obnoxious at the best of times, but now when they are visiting they clear up their beer bottles and stuff before leaving and don't shout the place down. Just out of respect for me as they know pregnant women don't have it easy. I think this room mate needs to learn some damn respect for you. Regardless of whose house it is

Idk maybe this a unpopular view but it's not your apartment... If I was paying for my apartment (or splitting costs) I wouldn't change my way of living for my roomates girlfriend who doesn't live there.

If you lived there it wouldve different.

Eta: why can't your boyfriend cook or clean lol I would assume their living situation was fine before you where in the picture, hence them still living together/being friends, so I wouldn't expect things to change just because you're staying over.

Нравится Ответить

I don't know. It's his place too and you're just staying there. If you don't like it then sleep at your own house.

I'd do the laxative in the pitcher

But then again I can be evil when provoked ?

Ask him to move out problem solved?

He doesn't bother me to the point where I want to hurt him, it just he takes people for granted. He's a great friend; just not a great room mate if that makes any sense. It's just the fact he can't help out here and there.

Нравится Ответить

If he bothers you so much don't stay there. Or only come over when your so is there. Roommates suck, hopefully you can find a bigger place soon!

@pp ??? so true ? I would so do it but he's lazy and won't clean up after himself.

Нравится Ответить

I've personally have always hated to have room mates family or friend room mates .for those reasons . Make another pitcher of tea with a laxative and leave it there for the room mate lol .. Don't get mad and stress your self out just get even. ? but your luck he'd end up s*** ting everywhere and leave it for you to clean !
