My son was 3 when I became a single mom. It was hard for me in the beginning but my son and I got the hang of it very quick. I got much help from my family tho

For me, it was tough but I dod not have to deal with the other/parent person at that time. I took the role quite well.

I became a single mom when he was 9 months old, it was hard but worth it. We started doing overnights right away because he was bottle fed and it was hard being away from him, but I was in school so I just focused on working and doing homework as much as I could when he was gone so I could spend all my time with him when he was home. My ex and I have never gone to court, we used to do 50/50 but now that my son is in school he only goes to his dad's on the weekend. It's better that it happened early because it's all he's ever known, so there was nothing to get used to as he got older. Definitely do it now because once baby comes you'll be so stressed and tired already, you don't need to be fighting with him on top of that

It takes a minute to get used to being on your own with your child. But once you realize how much better it is without the stress of a bad relationship it gets easier. Co-parenting can be very tough depending on the other parent. Who they get involved with as well.

Just remember not to say anything bad about the other parent especially in front of the child. Let them grow up and make that decision for themselves. My son has finally realized a lot of things and I do answer his questions honestly when asked. He is now 20.

Just take it one day at a time and focus on you and your child. If you have family around ask for help if you get overwhelmed and keep your chin up.

Im just going to say this.

Being a single mom was alot easier for me then trying to raise my daughter in an awful relationship.

Yes I have family support☺️ thank you ladies.

Do you have family support? I was a single mom and my family helped a lot. Just them being able to be there and help hang out with him was so helpful. I was able to shower and not worry about him or even if I had to go out someone was always there to help with him.

I will say that I feel like my SO was heaven sent. He fulfilled the daddy role the minute he met my son. He's raised him and has told me that he fell in love with our son before he loved me. He just had that instant connection and, here, 3 years later he's still an amazing dad to him.

I'm not a single mom but I would think it's hard. ( yes easier than dealing with a pos husband ) But being a single mother would leave you with everything. Paying the mortgage on your own and paying utilities on your own. Buying and cooking all the food on your own. Cleaning the house on your own plus taking care of a baby on your own. Top all that with working. your baby will have to go to daycare and as a mother.I wouldn't want to put my babies in a daycare.I'm the mom I should be raising and caring for my kids. My husband goes to work for us His job pays the mortgage, food, bill, toys, clothes everything we need which makes my life as a mother easy since I just have to take care of my babies and be the normal sahm. I don't know how I will have enough time to go to work full time and still do all that. It will just be you at night with a crying baby That won't sleep at all than to wake up early and do everything on your own will suck. My advice is two is better than 1 you have to try to work out for the baby at least try and I mean really try therapy and a plan. You choose to have this baby with this man for a reason just remember all the good reasons why you guys wanted to have a baby and to be a family and over time you guys will get better or decided you need to try harder or leave.

Honestly it was easier for me to be a single mom. The relationship I was in was miserable and I was always unhappy and angry but being on my own completely without the father of my child's help made me grow up a lot and focus more on my son.

My son is five weeks old and I've been a single mother since about five months into my pregnancy. My fiancée and I broke up and he eventually decided not to be in our sons life. Pregnancy was rough. I was so depressed and unable to really bond with my son. The second he was born that all went away. I fell head over heels hopelessly obsessed in love with him. There are days where it would be nice to have another human to talk to...or someone to share the happy and not so happy moments with. At the end of the day I wouldn't change a thing. I have the most beautiful little boy who will never be around fighting. Plus I get all the snuggles. PM me if you ever need to talk.

Some days are a lot harder than others, but you can do it momma. It is hard getting a lot done now that I'm left with no vehicle, and I don't have dependable family. His father is still involved but lives 5 hours away so only visits once or twice a month. He helps me financially, though. Just take help when offered, momma. It's okay to ask for a break.

I don't think I would have any other way!! I love doing things my way and getting all the love from my girls lol. Don't think I'll be dating for atleast 10 more years. Just got comfy doing it on my own.

@lmc I understand what you're saying. It's what's best for the baby. I'm sorry if I worded it wrong ☺️

And thank you ladies. Him and I don't want to do court and he's ok to coming over after work to spend time with the baby for 3 hours. I'd let him have him over night but since my baby will be depending on breast feeding and buy if he wants to sleep in the spare bedroom that's ok too. But I don't want my son to leave the house overnight unless I am there. But he's a great guy but if he doesn't change before Grayson is here I got to leave. My son is my first priority.

I had a difficult time but I seized the challenge and did my best. You can do this!

For me it has been really hard. Bur I'm trying to focus on myself so I can be a good mom. I keep myself busy. Its def a journey.

I was a single mom for awhile and it was all worth it. The transition isn't from happy relationship to being a single mom, it's more of doing what's best for yourself and for the baby (or in my case kiddos). I never wanted them to think that was the way a relationship was suppose to be.

Much easier than supporting my loser, pot smoking, unemployed husband. I'd rather do it on my own than take care of a crazy man-child too. My first court date in my divorce is Monday.

Frustrating and hard at times but rewarding knowing I was doing all I could for the kids.

It made me a little selfish tbh. I got all the snuggles and love.

You get into a routine and it gets a lot easier.

It can be frustrating some times but it's a lot more peaceful than being in a horrible relationship. All you have to focus on is you and your baby/ies.

Extremely hard.

It was easier for me than staying in a horrible relationship. I was able to thrive more as a mother on my own.

Thank you ladies. I just want to make the right decision for me and my bubby. I do love my SO/ExSO but I want what'll work best for our son and if he and I can't stop fighting I'll be q single mommy for my little man so he doesn't live in a broken home.

If your baby isn't born yet I think it would be easier to break up before he or she is born. So you don't become used to the help your so is with the baby and stay just for the "happy family" aspect.

Was it hard being a single mom at first? Like was it a hard transition from being a happy relationship then having to become a single mom? I'm sorry for asking but I'm curious due to the whole "it's over" to hours later he misses me and worried about me, etc. but I want to do what's best for my son.

From day one I've been a single mom & it's honestly not bad. I enjoy it. You just do what you have to do for your children.
