Has anyone experienced this with their LO? This is the second time I’ve noticed DS (5wks old tomorrow) having a sunken soft spot. Both times were in the car and within 30mins to an hour it was back to normal. He’s had plenty of dirty/wet diapers and is eating normally.

Thanks pp, I plan to show them the picture. He’s nursing plenty and it went back to normal before he nursed again so I dunno what it was. It only seems to happen in the car so maybe it’s the position? No idea.

Just saw your comment sorry!

Not sure what else it could be !

Maybe bring it up next time in person to the pedi to see if you can get more info on it .

I've been told that's a sign of dehydration don't know why the pedi wouldn't tell you that ! Definitely feed the baby milk/formula as much as possible to rehydrate !

That happened to my son when he was in the car also. It only happened once. After getting out of the car he was fine. I'm not sure why it happened.

Yep, I know it’s usually dehydration but like I said he’s had plenty to eat this morning and has had lots of wet diapers. Plus it goes away pretty quickly. Just wasn’t sure if anyone had it happen without it being dehydration.

I would think it’s a sign of dehydration. I would want my pediatrician to look at it though.
