plus size Delivery!

Okay mommies. So being plus sized and all I was wondering how many of you have had a vaginal delivery? This will be my first and I really wanna do a vaginal but due to being on the bigger side my doctors keep bringing up having me as a c section.. I've refused many times as I don't see the need to have one just because I'm plus sized... So I was wondering, has anyone had a successful vaginal delivery being plus sized?

It's not about size - it's about muscle strength and endurance : ) Do a TON of walking, starting now, and try to get some squats in to get your pelvic muscles ready and strong for a vaginal delivery.

Also, if you have gestational diabetes, docs will always want to talk about c-section because of size of baby, but not necessarily the size of you. Make sure to stand your ground, but also make sure to prepare your body. Delivery is a bit of a marathon and you wouldn't just show up and run one without preparing. :)

With my first baby I was 340lb and had a vaginal delivery

Maybe switch to a different Dr? I'm thinking about it and I am 31 weeks.

Thats crazy! I weighed 270 lbs when i delivered my son, my doctors never insisted on c section, let alone mentioned it.

I'm 318#. This will be my 5th vag delivery, providing baby gets his head down.

I'm almost 300 even :( I know that is terrible but I really let myself go before the pregnancy due to an injury.

I was 180 at delivery of my first two daughters & had a successful vaginal birth of two nearly 10 lb girls.

I plan to do this same with this little boy, even though I’m coming in at 192 now at 29 weeks

I was 300+ pounds with my first kid and had a successful vaginal delivery. I would definitely opt out of getting a cesarean if it's not necessary.

I was 246 when I had my daughter and I'm 239 now with my son @31 weeks and never have I been told I needed to have a c section because of my weight! Unless it's medically necessary I'd fight that!

I do. Not understand why they would give you a c-section because you are plus sized that is ridiculous. With my last pregnancy I was 203lbs when I got pregnant and never heard this not once. I gave birth just like all my other kids vaginally it was actually the first birth i did not tear. I also have obese friends who had their kids vaginally and perfectly fine

I'm currently 30 weeks and weighing in at 192 and my First OB had told me that I need to lose weight or I'll be having another c section (this was after I told her my fear of having another one, I want a vaginal delivery so bad). I left so upset, then shook it off.

I found a new OB within 2 days and he is the most amazing man. He told me that he will do everything in his power to make sure that I get my wish of a vaginal delivery. I told him if it came to it and NEEDED a c section, then of course. But if it's not necessary, I don't want it. And not once did he say anything about my weight. He said I looked great!!

Find somebody new! Don't let somebody ruin what's yours!

I dont see why that matters at all. I was 231lbs when I delivered my last. No issues at all. Tell them if they ask again you will switch doctors.

I wouldn't even know how to go about it because of all of my appointments and complications. :(

I know switching doctors this late in a pregnancy isn’t fun, but is it an option? You should absolutely NOT have to have a csection unless medically necessary, and being plus size doesn’t count!

That really makes me feel better. They have been pushing since my 12 week visit that's all they talk about. I've told them that I refuse to have one unless medically necessary, but they keep saying about still scheduling me for one. Which I do NOT wanna do. I'm almost 32 weeks pregnant and have no idea what to do at this point :( how do I keep standing my ground if they aren't listening?

I am a plus size momma and this will be my 4th vaginas delivery. Don't listen to them. :) You got this

Don’t let them talk you into c-section just because of your weight. The only reason they wanna do that is they get paid more for doing c-sections... stand your ground momma. Unless it’s life threatening and you have to have one I’d stick with what you wanna do.

With my last pregnancy i weighed 292lbs when i gave birth. My doctor never brought up a ccection just because of my weight. I had vaginal birth. This time around im bigger and will do a vaginal birth also.

So being plus size and pregnant and 15 weeks it kind of blows not to be able to see the little baby bump that would probably be there if I were thin. I'm always wondering if when or even if I even will show. 😞 any other plus size mommy out there?

Short Luteal Phase?

I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.
