Milk production

Okay, so I'm due may 8th and I don't think I've started producing anything yet. I hear about all these moms already leaking and not due until the end of May and am a bit worried. This is my first btw. Is this normal? Should I already have milk starting to form? I'm only worried because I want to breast feed so badly! Has anyone else experienced this?

Thank you all so much for the kind reassuring words. You all have made me feel much better now and a bit more relieved! I was so worried I thought something was wrong with me, but it is really good to know that I am not alone and almost everyone produced more than enough! Thank you all again!

It's normal to not leak, most women don't during pregnancy. Your milk will come in 2-3 days after baby is born. I never leaked anything during pregnancy and I breastfed my DD for 15 months

Normal! I never leaked until 4 days after my son was born! ?

I’ve never leaked prior to baby being born, and this is my third! No problems producing- baby 1 nursed 17 months and baby 2 nursed 22 months.

Never leaked with my first and had no problems producing. Also no leaking so far with this pregnancy I will be 27 weeks on Thursday. My boobs are very sore some days.

You don’t actually produce milk until a couple of days after baby is born. Until then your body makes colostrum and some women leak that during pregnancy. Hope that helps you feel better :)

When my milk came in, I felt it (as weird as that sounds) I got shooting pains through my breasts. And then the milk literally was pouring out.

This was with my first pregnancy, second day I was home with my baby girl, my milk hadn’t come in, so my parents picked me up non-alcoholic beer and within 30 minuets of drinking the milk was flowing lol.

I never leak or produce until after baby is born. And i have 4 girls on baby #5. I always breastfed for a year had way too much supply so pumped and stored enough for 9 months to a year

I breast fed my first and weaned him 5 months ago but I'm not leaking. I never leaked with my first pregnancy either, I wouldn't worry about it

I never produced anything with my first I wasn’t able to nurse because I didn’t produce.. I’d be oh so happy if I started having a slight leakage right now. Your not the only one that is worried about it. If anything talk to a lactation consultant their at the hospital and at any WIC office. Talk to them for some information and hopefully they can easy your mind. I have an appointment April 12th for mine as my sone came 3weeks early. I’m due now May 26th with this one..

Try pumping after you nurse to bring up your supply. The more you demand and have letdown the more your body says "make more milk." Rarely are your breasts truly empty. But I don't think you have low supply. I was also drinking Healthy nursing tea to improve my milk production. It helped a lot!

I never produced a drop during my 1st or 2nd pregnancy but I breastfed both for over a year & had a 6 month supply of pumped milk in the freezer afterwards so try not to stress. When it's time, you'll know it.

Agree! Leaking now isn’t a sign of how much you will produce once baby gets here! I’ve only leaked a handful of times before baby is here and I’m on my 3rd! And those few leaks are much closer to the due date and because I smoosh my boobs while I sleep apparently! My past two I have had a nice supply and was able to donate milk to other babies too!

I wouldn't worry about it this soon. You are most likely producing milk by now. Some women leak during pregnancy and some don't!! This is my 4th and I only leak after baby is born and im engorged. Then its super obnoxious lol. Count your blessing that you aren't leaking yet!! :)
