Surrogacy Has anyone considered being or have been a surrogate? Or even used a surrogate?

I'm 29 weeks with twins as a surro.

I have always thought about it and if someone ever asked me I would love to it for them and give them something they otherwise would not have, in a heart beat.

Im 29 weeks pregnant with a surrobaby right now.

Jodi, it is legal in Australia, you just can't be paid for it ? But going through agencies there are fees involved and the parents to be are responsible for the medical costs for the mother. There are a number of agencies in Australia who can help facilitate legal surrogacy ??

I believe it's illegal to accept payment for being a surrogate in Australia but not illegal to do (I'm not sure how all the legalities of who the legal parents are works though).

I think I'd carry a child if either of my SILs couldn't (it would have to be their egg or donor egg though). Can't imagine doing it other than for close family.

No but I would love to be a surrogate for someone who can't have babies!

I'm not sure if we are allowed here in Australia though. Or are we ?

My husband and I are using a surrogate. I can't carry. I went through egg retrieval and we're using embryos that are biologically ours. Our Sept '15 transfer resulted in a blighted ovum. We are currently awaiting our second u/s to see if this one is too. We are 6.5 weeks

I would love too but there would need to be some conditions met......they couldnt use my egg, a female egg donar is needed.

I am more than happy to grow someone elses baby and hand them over....i think it would be a bit harder to do so with my own baby. I dont think i could handle that tbh.

I think its the greatest gift to have a child and saddens my heart to see others not be able to have that joy

One of the greatest gifts available to give another human. It takes all kinds of strength, courage and trust to be able to go through with it. I personally don't think I could but I truly commend anybody that does.

I've told my sil I'll be a surrogate for her if she gives me a year after this baby is born. I dont think my brother is keen on the idea tho.

I'd totally do it if I had the heart and strength to not get attatched. Such an amazing gift to give someone!

No, but my niece was born via a surrogate :-) I truly believe it is the greatest gift anyone could ever give ?
