Miscarrying naturally - what to expect?

Hi everyone, I started bleeding on Tuesday (including passing some clots) and then got confirmation today that my HCG levels have dropped from where they were 10 days ago (1700 down to 1400). It looked like I passed a small bit of tissue this afternoon. I would really like to try to complete the miscarriage naturally, what should I expect? I would have been 7 weeks tomorrow.

Thanks everyone. So sorry you all had to go through this. And Nicole, wow, you must be a very brave woman!

I had some cramping on Tuesday and Wednesday and had a few small clots, but nothing major. I think I passed a bit of tissue yesterday, but I'm not even bleeding much yet (only when I wipe or go to the bathroom). I hate just waiting for it to start but I'd really like to avoid another D&C of possible. Hopefully it processes this weekend when I'm at home so the worst is over by the time I'm back at work on Monday.

I'm so very sorry for what your family is going through ? I've had 7 miscarriages all naturally and all between 6-8 weeks. For me it was an extremely heavy period. My 3rd, and subsequent losses, I was to collect large clots or tissue for analysis at the hospital which gave no answers in my case but has for others I know. Hugs.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's different for everyone. I've had 3 in the past year and the first one was around 6 weeks. It felt like period cramps and then I began bleeding heavy and passing blood clots and tissue. The second one was more intense for me. It felt more like labor and was painful. I had to be taken to the hospital in a ambulance. I was 13 almost 14 weeks. I was bleeding heavily before I got to the hospital. The ultrasound confirmed that there was no heartbeat. The doctor on call told me he was going to check me. I found out shortly after when the hospital pastor came in that the doctor had removed the baby from me and never told me. But thanks to her I was able to see the baby and hold it for a little while. I ended up having the baby cremated and put in a necklaces. I ended up having a d&c before they sent me home. The third time happened in November. I was 14 weeks 6 days and went for a private ultrasound because I didn't feel comfortable waiting till 20 weeks for my ultrasound. Unfortunately when I went there was no heartbeat found. I ended up going to er to confirm it and was sent home to have the miscarriage. The next day I started spotting and within 6 hours it felt like labor and I started bleeding very heavily. It got very intense for me and I felt like I was going to pass out. I started hearing ringing and then there was a huge gush and I threw up and passed out. The ambulance was called and I was taken to the hospital again. I had to have a blood transfusion and another d&c.

I am so sorry about your loss. Mine took about a week. I went to the er with spotting and my hcg had dropped no cramps at 8w 2d. Baby still had heart beat till 8w 5d. I started spotting agian and then bleeding with clots. Within 12 hours of the clots I passed baby. I didn have any cramps or anything. Everyone is different though. Sometimes it takes a couple weeks naturally some it happens in a day.

It's so different for everyone. I miscarried at 10 weeks and it felt similar to a labour, where I had contractions for 48 hours. I've had friends who passed theirs quite easily though. Stock up on maxi pads, try and eat lots of leafy greens to replace the iron loss during, and be somewhere you're comfortable. Thinking of you and so sorry for your loss ?
